The telecommunication power supply applied in 5G base stations can save energy consumption by reducing the output voltage when the equipment works in standby state. Nevertheless,frequent and rapid output voltage regulating of the converters is challenging. To solve this problem,the concept of partial power conversion was adopted in the design of power supply converters. A partial voltage regulating circuit was added at the output side of the converter,and fast output voltage regulating was realized with control of outer voltage loop,inner current loop,load current feedforward and output voltage feedforward loop. At the same time,higher energy conversion efficiency was guaranteed. A 1 kW DC/DC converter was built and verified the effectiveness of the proposed topology and control strategy.

应用于5G基站的通信电源可在设备待机时降低输出电压来减少能耗,然而输出电压的频繁快速调节给变换器带来挑战。针对这一问题,采用部分功率调节的思想,在变换器输出端构造部分电压调节电路,对电压调节电路采用电压外环电流内环、负载电流前馈以及输出电压前馈控制,使变换器获得电压快速调节的能力且保持较高的能量转换效率。搭建1 kW实验样机,验证了所选拓扑以及控制策略的有效性。

应用于5G基站的通信电源可在设备待机时降低输出电压来减少能耗,然而输出电压的频繁快速调节给变换器带来挑战。针对这一问题,采用部分功率调节的思想,在变换器输出端构造部分电压调节电路,对电压调节电路采用电压外环电流内环、负载电流前馈以及输出电压前馈控制,使变换器获得电压快速调节的能力且保持较高的能量转换效率。搭建1 kW实验样机,验证了所选拓扑以及控制策略的有效性。

The telecommunication power supply applied in 5G base stations can save energy consumption by reducing the output voltage when the equipment works in standby state. Nevertheless,frequent and rapid output voltage regulating of the converters is challenging. To solve this problem,the concept of partial power conversion was adopted in the design of power supply converters. A partial voltage regulating circuit was added at the output side of the converter,and fast output voltage regulating was realized with control of outer voltage loop,inner current loop,load current feedforward and output voltage feedforward loop. At the same time,higher energy conversion efficiency was guaranteed. A 1 kW DC/DC converter was built and verified the effectiveness of the proposed topology and control strategy.

随着5G的普及和推广[1],其用电需求越来越大。为减小能耗,在有线天线单元(active antenna unit,AAU)监测到下行符号发送时刻没有数据发送时,可临时关闭功率放大器(power amplifier,PA),减小PA静态功耗;当监测到有业务时智能唤醒PA。基于AAU的PA动态工作模式,需要研究一种高输出电压调节速率的DC/DC变换技术,解决基站通信电源负载变化快的问题,从而适应PA模块的动态调节特性,最终降低设备功耗。为使电源能够在待机状态和额定功率工况之间快速切换,需提高其电压调节速率。
目前,通信电源的DC/DC部分较多采用LLC谐振变换器[2-3]。LLC谐振变换器具有良好的软开关特性,可实现电能的高效率转换。虽然单电压闭环控制易于设计,但LLC在不同增益或不同开关频率下的动态不一致,很难获得快速一致的动态响应。为提高系统的动态响应,国内外学者做了很多研究。第一种方案是增加电流内环。文献[4]采用平均电流模式控制,但平均谐振电流通过对谐振电流进行整流滤波得到,内部电流环带宽低。文献[5]提出了一种基于“磁化电流抵消法”的控制方案,但控制电路复杂和昂贵,且控制器内部的关键单元的容差可能会导致额外的输出电流调节误差。第二种方案是检测谐振电容电压。文献[6]通过谐振电容电压开通或关断上下桥臂的开关管,直接控制每周期谐振腔输入电荷,显著提高了变换器的动态性能。文献[7-8]中提出了混合迟滞控制,并取得了同类中最好的暂态性能。虽然上述控制具有良好的性能,但不能同时满足简单的实现和数字控制能力。简化的最优轨迹控制[9-11]可以通过简单测量输出电压和负载电流来实现非常快速的瞬态负载响应,但这种控制策略不适用于输出电压被快速调整的情况。上述方案可以采用大容量储能电容器保证LLC变换器在负载切换过程中的动态特性,但过多的电容影响输出电压调整速度。当输出电容较大时,输出电压的快速调节会对开关器件和无源器件造成较大的电流应力。针对上述问题,有学者采用了部分功率结构,只对小功率调节,保证系统的高效运行[12]
本文采用了一种基于部分功率调节的高调压速率DC/DC变换器。通过对部分输出电压构造电压外环和电流内环控制、输出电压前馈和负载电流前馈,使变换器具有较好的调压能力和动态性能。实验证明了所提拓扑的优越性以及控制策略的有效性。
传统LLC谐振变换器采用较多输出电容实现负载投切时变换器良好的动态响应;当输出电压需要调节时,为提高电压调节速度,又不期望有过多的输出电容。基于此,本文将变换器输出分解为主功率输出与电压调节电路输出,如图1所示。主功率输出可不具备电压调节能力;电压调节输出采用较小的电容,具有良好的电压调节能力。
电压调节电路可选择单极性拓扑,如Buck电路,亦可选择双极性拓扑,如H桥电路。采用单极性拓扑时电压调节电路输出为正极性电压,主功率输出电压被限制在输出电压的最低值,此时电压调节电路的调节范围较宽;采用双极性拓扑则可提高主功率输出电压,降低电压调节电路的输出范围以及功率,有利于整体效率的提升。
本文基于部分功率调节的高调压速率DC/DC变换器的结构如图2所示。双路输出变换器可选择LLC谐振变换器,工作在谐振频率,效率最高[4]。主功率绕组的输出电压设置为输出电压调节范围的中间值48 V。电压调节电路选择H桥电路,采用载波移相控制,增加等效开关频率,输出特性好。输出电压范围为-6~+6 V。输出电压为正时,功率正向流动,工作过程与Buck变换器相同;当输出电压为负时,功率反向流动,可看作输出电压为负的Buck变换器,此时C4的能量向C3流动,C3的能量向C5流动,S3~S6的工作模式为推挽变换器。
为保证高速率的输出电压调节特性,本文在输出电压外环、H桥电感电流内环的基础上增加输出电压前馈与负载电流前馈,控制框图如图3所示。图中,Vin 为H桥输入电压;Vref 为输出电压指令值;ILref 为电感电流指令值;IL为电感电流实际值;Io为负载电流;Vo为输出电压; RL2为电感等效电阻;Gvs)为电压环PI 调节器;Gis)为电流环PI调节器。
H桥电路外环对总输出电压进行控制,使H桥电路输出电压在切载或电压调节时补偿主功率输出的电压波动,保证总输出电压稳定或快速调节。电压环的输出为电流内环的参考,电流内环对电感电流采用平均电流控制,电流内环的输出给到占空比。
电流内环计算的是加在电感一侧的电压,而另一侧是输出电压。如果将输出电压叠加到电流内环的输出上,就可以避免PI的无用调节过程,提高调节速度。因此需要引入输出电压前馈改善系统的调节性能。
负载电流前馈是采集输出电流并加入到H桥电感电流的指令中,图4为加入负载电流前馈前、后H桥输出阻抗的伯德图,加入负载电流前馈后,大幅降低20 kHz以下变换器输出阻抗,进而降低负载电流对输出电压的影响。
为验证本文的拓扑及控制策略的有效性,搭建图5所示的实验样机,具体电路指标如下:输入电压480 V,输出电压42 ~54 V,H桥输入电压10 V,H桥输出电压-6~+6 V,H桥滤波电感10 μH,H桥滤波电容10 μF,H桥开关频率85 kHz,LLC开关频率85 kHz,满载输出电流25 A。
图6图7分别为加入输出电压占空比前馈前、后变换器输出电压调节时的输出电压Vo,H桥电感电流IL与LLC电感电流ILLC波形图。图6a为输出电压由50 V调节至42 V,在400 μs内输出电压调节8 V。图6b为输出电压由42 V调节至50 V,输出电压调节的时间为400 μs。图7a为输出电压由50 V调节至42 V,在400 μs内输出电压调节8 V。图7b为输出电压由42 V调节至50 V,输出电压调节的时间为400 μs。相比于加入占空比前馈,未加前馈若达到与加入前馈一样的调节时间,电压外环比例系数及积分系数较大,引起电流内环的振荡,不利于系统稳定,电感发出低频噪音。
图8图9分别为加入负载电流前馈前、后变换器输出功率在空载和满载之间切换时,输出电压、H桥电感电流和LLC电感电流波形图。其中,输出电压设置为交流耦合。由图8a可知,负载由空载切换至满载时,电压跌落约为6%。图8b中负载由满载切换至空载时,电压抬升约为6%。图9a负载由空载切换至满载时,电压跌落不超过2%。图9b中负载由满载切换至空载时,电压抬升不超过2%。加入负载电流前馈,可明显降低切载时电压跌落或过冲,减少调节时间。
通过调压实验和切载实验表明,变换器的动态特性较好。
最后分别测量在不同输出电流下,不同输出电压的效率曲线,如图10所示。变换器峰值效率为97.1%。在输出电压42 V时整体效率偏低,原因为此时H桥存在功率环流,造成额外的变压器、电感以及开关器件的损耗。
同时为分析引入部分功率变换环节对于整体效率的影响,在输出48 V前提下,将单级LLC、H桥下管长通、H桥电感短路以及不同开关频率与H桥死区时间的效率进行对比。引入部分功率变换环节使变换器整机效率降低0.9%,具体损耗分布如图11所示。
本文以5G基站电源为设计需求,采用部分功率的思想设计了一款谐振变换器样机。本次设计具有以下特点:1)通过对部分电压构造环路控制,使变换器在输出电压调节以及负载切换时均有较好的动态特性;2)电压调节电路只需处理小部分功率,对整体效率影响较小。实验样机验证了设计的可行性与正确性,变换器最高效率为97.1%。
