Objective In this study, the effect of seasonal lake level changes on the sedimentary characteristics, growth process, and sedimentary architecture of the finger bar in shallow delta fronts is clarified. Methods Based on the modern mud and sand and hydrological data of finger bar in the Ganjiang Delta, sedimentary numerical simulation software Delft3D, which is commonly used in China and elsewhere, is used to conduct numerical simulation of the sedimentation of the finger bar under seasonal lake level changes and constant lake level conditions, comparing the differences in sedimentary architectures. Results The study shows that under seasonal lake level changes, the finger bar exhibit the following sedimentary architecture and growth evolution characteristics: (1) There are few finger bar, small curvature (average ~1.42), long length (average ~9.2 km), thick in the middle, and thin at the edge, with a thickness difference of 15.4 m. There is no evident confluence between the finger bar, presenting a plane combination style dominated by bird-foot shape. (2) The finger bar develop deep distributary channels, the natural levees are wide and thick, and the thickness of the single-stage accretionary body in the mouth bar is large. (3) The finger bar exhibit stable growth. During lake level drop, the finger bar undergo progradation, the distributary channels are mainly eroded-extended, and mouth bar deposits are formed at the front edge of the distributary channels. The distributary channels are also affected by the mouth bars and undergo diversion and breach, forming multiple terminal distributary channels, and the natural levees are almost undeveloped; during lake level rise, the finger bar undergo retrogradation, the erosion of the distributary channels is weak, the distributary channels are abandoned and optimized, and the natural levees on both sides of the distributary channels accumulate and continue to thicken. For constant lake level, the finger bar show the following sedimentary architecture and growth evolution characteristics: (1) There are many finger bar, with large curvature (average ~1.53), short length (average ~7.2 km), large overall thickness (maximum and minimum thickness differ by only 4.8 m), and no evident topographic difference; multiple finger bar are constantly bifurcated and merged locally, forming a complex the finger bar network, and the plane combination style of the finger bar is mainly interlaced. (2) Deep distributary channels are developed in the finger bar, the single-stage accretion body of the estuary bar is thick, but the most important difference is that there is no natural levee deposition. (3) The growth process of the finger bar is relatively simple, with multiple the finger bar growing simultaneously, intertwining with each other, and finally forming an interlaced plane combination style. Conclusions Therefore, seasonal lake level change is an important formation condition for the finger bar at the front of shallow deltas, promoting the development of natural levees, improving the stability of distributary channels and the finger bar, and playing an important role in controlling the sedimentary architecture and growth process of the finger bar.

目的 明确季节性湖平面变化对浅水三角洲前缘指状砂坝沉积特征和生长过程的影响。 方法 基于赣江三角洲指状砂坝现代沉积资料,利用Delft3D软件,开展季节性湖平面变化与不变条件下的指状砂坝沉积数值模拟及差异对比分析。 结果 在季节性湖平面变化条件下,指状砂坝表现如下沉积构型与生长演化特征:(1)指状砂坝个数少、弯曲度小、长度长、中部厚度大,呈鸟足状为主的平面组合样式;(2)指状砂坝发育深切型分流河道,天然堤宽且厚,河口坝内单期增生体厚度大;(3)在湖平面下降期,指状砂坝发生进积,分流河道以侵蚀—延伸为主;在湖平面上升期,指状砂坝发生退积,分流河道侵蚀作用弱,以沉积作用为主,天然堤加积并不断增厚。 结论 季节性湖平面变化是浅水三角洲指状砂坝的重要形成条件,其促进了天然堤的发育,提高了分流河道及指状砂坝的稳定性,对指状砂坝的沉积构型与生长过程具有重要的控制作用。

目的 明确季节性湖平面变化对浅水三角洲前缘指状砂坝沉积特征和生长过程的影响。 方法 基于赣江三角洲指状砂坝现代沉积资料,利用Delft3D软件,开展季节性湖平面变化与不变条件下的指状砂坝沉积数值模拟及差异对比分析。 结果 在季节性湖平面变化条件下,指状砂坝表现如下沉积构型与生长演化特征:(1)指状砂坝个数少、弯曲度小、长度长、中部厚度大,呈鸟足状为主的平面组合样式;(2)指状砂坝发育深切型分流河道,天然堤宽且厚,河口坝内单期增生体厚度大;(3)在湖平面下降期,指状砂坝发生进积,分流河道以侵蚀—延伸为主;在湖平面上升期,指状砂坝发生退积,分流河道侵蚀作用弱,以沉积作用为主,天然堤加积并不断增厚。 结论 季节性湖平面变化是浅水三角洲指状砂坝的重要形成条件,其促进了天然堤的发育,提高了分流河道及指状砂坝的稳定性,对指状砂坝的沉积构型与生长过程具有重要的控制作用。

Objective In this study, the effect of seasonal lake level changes on the sedimentary characteristics, growth process, and sedimentary architecture of the finger bar in shallow delta fronts is clarified. Methods Based on the modern mud and sand and hydrological data of finger bar in the Ganjiang Delta, sedimentary numerical simulation software Delft3D, which is commonly used in China and elsewhere, is used to conduct numerical simulation of the sedimentation of the finger bar under seasonal lake level changes and constant lake level conditions, comparing the differences in sedimentary architectures. Results The study shows that under seasonal lake level changes, the finger bar exhibit the following sedimentary architecture and growth evolution characteristics: (1) There are few finger bar, small curvature (average ~1.42), long length (average ~9.2 km), thick in the middle, and thin at the edge, with a thickness difference of 15.4 m. There is no evident confluence between the finger bar, presenting a plane combination style dominated by bird-foot shape. (2) The finger bar develop deep distributary channels, the natural levees are wide and thick, and the thickness of the single-stage accretionary body in the mouth bar is large. (3) The finger bar exhibit stable growth. During lake level drop, the finger bar undergo progradation, the distributary channels are mainly eroded-extended, and mouth bar deposits are formed at the front edge of the distributary channels. The distributary channels are also affected by the mouth bars and undergo diversion and breach, forming multiple terminal distributary channels, and the natural levees are almost undeveloped; during lake level rise, the finger bar undergo retrogradation, the erosion of the distributary channels is weak, the distributary channels are abandoned and optimized, and the natural levees on both sides of the distributary channels accumulate and continue to thicken. For constant lake level, the finger bar show the following sedimentary architecture and growth evolution characteristics: (1) There are many finger bar, with large curvature (average ~1.53), short length (average ~7.2 km), large overall thickness (maximum and minimum thickness differ by only 4.8 m), and no evident topographic difference; multiple finger bar are constantly bifurcated and merged locally, forming a complex the finger bar network, and the plane combination style of the finger bar is mainly interlaced. (2) Deep distributary channels are developed in the finger bar, the single-stage accretion body of the estuary bar is thick, but the most important difference is that there is no natural levee deposition. (3) The growth process of the finger bar is relatively simple, with multiple the finger bar growing simultaneously, intertwining with each other, and finally forming an interlaced plane combination style. Conclusions Therefore, seasonal lake level change is an important formation condition for the finger bar at the front of shallow deltas, promoting the development of natural levees, improving the stability of distributary channels and the finger bar, and playing an important role in controlling the sedimentary architecture and growth process of the finger bar.

浅水三角洲是指发育于水体较浅、物源供给较为充裕、地形较为平坦的大型敞流湖盆中的一类三角洲(Donaldson,1974邹才能等,2008朱筱敏等,2012),广泛发育于我国陆相沉积盆地,如鄂尔多斯盆地、松辽盆地、四川盆地等(朱筱敏等,2012)。依据浅水三角洲前缘地貌形态和沉积特征差异,前人将其分为朵状三角洲和指状三角洲两种不同类型(Donaldson,1974Edmonds and Slingerland,2007张昌民等,2010尹太举等,2012)。朵状三角洲由连片砂体复合而成,连片砂体内部不发育稳定的分流间湾(Donaldson,1969)。指状三角洲由单个或者多个伸长的指状砂坝组成,砂泥比低,悬移质含量高,单个指状砂坝由河口坝、坝上分流河道及天然堤砂体复合而成,且两侧发育分流间湾(Fisk et al.,1954Edmonds and Slingerland,2010;Xu et al.,2021)。近年来,鄂尔多斯盆地三叠系延长组、渤海湾盆地新近系明化镇组中陆续发现指状砂坝储层(李元昊等,2009Xu et al.,2023),具有丰富的油气资源,其沉积特征与形成机理逐渐受到学者们的重视(李元昊等,2009吴胜和等,2019Xu et al.,2021a2021b2023)。
前人研究认为指状砂坝的形成条件与沉积物供给条件密切相关:(1)细粒高黏的沉积物有助于天然堤的加积,提高河流稳定性,从而有利于指状砂坝的形成(Edmonds and Slingerland,2010);(2)低供给量条件(尤其是低于1 000 m³/s的阈值),分流河道稳定性较高,更有利于指状砂坝的形成(Xu et al.,2021)。前人基于沉积物粒度、河流供给量大小,探讨了有利于指状砂坝的形成条件,却忽略了存在于湖盆中季节性的湖平面变化对指状砂坝的影响。近年来,针对浅水三角洲对湖平面变化的响应问题,国内外学者利用野外露头、地下储层、现代沉积、水槽模拟等手段开展了大量的研究(楼章华等,19981999Martin et al,2009于兴河等,2013张阳等,2016冯文杰等,2017曾灿等,2017Wang and Muto,2021),逐步认识到湖平面变化对湖盆浅水三角洲演化具有重要控制作用。但针对季节性湖平面变化对指状砂坝形态规模、生长过程、构型特征的影响作用仍缺乏定量且深入的研究,尚存在以下三方面的问题:(1)季节性湖平面变化下指状砂坝几何形态特征如何?(2)相较于湖平面不变,季节性湖平面变化下指状砂坝内各微相分布特征是否存在差异?(3)在季节性湖平面变化下,指状砂坝又是怎样的沉积演化过程?
为进一步研究季节性湖平面变化对指状砂坝的控制作用,以鄱阳湖指状砂坝的水文数据和粒度大小为例,利用泥沙动力学模拟软件(Delft3D)开展季节性湖平面变化下浅水三角洲指状砂坝形成过程的数值模拟,定量表征各个构型要素,分析指状砂坝的生长演变过程,建立季节性湖平面变化下浅水三角洲前缘指状砂坝的构型模式。
鄱阳湖位于江西省北部、长江南岸,是中国最大的淡水湖泊。鄱阳湖整体略似葫芦状,南北长约110 km(28°11′~29°51 N),东西宽约50~70 km(115°49′~116°49′ E),洪水期水域面积超过4 000 km2图1a)(朱海虹等,1981Shankman et al.,2006吴桂平等,2015)。以松门山为界,分为南、北两个湖区,北湖狭窄,南湖辽阔,南湖是湖区主体(《鄱阳湖研究》编委会,1988)。
鄱阳湖湖底平坦,湖水较浅,月平均水位差异大,呈单峰型特征(图2a)(闵骞,1995)。在洪、枯水期变幅超过8 m,夏季丰水期(6—10月),相对湖平面值最大(图2a),水面约为4 000 km2;秋冬枯水期(11—2月),相对湖平面达到最低值(图2a),除局部洼地和湖底水道充水外,水面不到1 000 km2胡挺和仇红亚,2023)。
鄱阳湖内水系相当发育,主要承纳赣、修、抚、信、饶5条河流供给,平均年吞吐水量达1.48×1011 m3Shankman et al.,2006)。湖内西部、西南赣江,修水汇入,南部与抚河、信江相接,东部饶河南北两支在鄱阳县汇合后入湖(图1a),其中,赣江水系最为发达(闵骞,1995周刚等,2012胡挺和仇红亚,2023)。依据赣江水流量资料显示:洪水期时(6月),注水量约4 800 m3/s;枯水期时(12—2月)注水量约200 m3/s(图2b)(周刚等,2012)。
赣江作为鄱阳湖内最大的供给水系,在鄱阳湖内形成大规模的赣江浅水三角洲沉积(图1b)(张春生和陈庆松,1996)。其下平原—前缘顺源长度约16 km,总面积约650 km2,发育多个指状砂坝沉积体(图1b)(Xu et al.,2022)。
在赣江西支的横岭港、杨家港、陶家港,北支的茶叶港,中支的朱港、南支的五星农场、北村边发育10个分布较散的指状砂坝,呈狭长、蛇状的形态向湖盆中心进积(图1b)。其中赣江西支及其分支河道形成的2个指状砂坝(BSD1~2),顺延长度为8~20 km,宽度为0.2~2.0 km。赣江北支及其分支河道在下平原—前缘形成的6个指状砂坝(BSD3~8),顺延长度为0.2~6.0 km,宽度为70~500 m。赣江中支的分支入湖后在朱港附近形成了一个指状形态砂体(BSD9),顺源延伸长度约为2.5 km,宽度约为100 m,沉积厚度小于3 m。赣江南支分支的南河入湖形成了1个指状砂坝(BSD10),顺源延伸长度约为5 km,宽度约为300 m(图1b)(Xu et al.,2022)。
Delft3D是由荷兰代尔夫特理工大学(Delft University of Technology)和Deltares公司开发的水体动力学模拟软件,以Navier-Stokes方程为基础通过数学方程和物理过程的数值解求解来模拟水体动力学。该系统包含网格(Grid)、水流(Flow)等模块,各模块之间完全在线动态耦合主要适用于地表水的模拟和计算,并广泛用于河流、河口、海洋、湖泊等水体系统的模拟和研究。Delft3D主要控制方程如下:

2) 悬浮沉积物搬运与沉积计算

参照赣江浅水三角洲沉积背景和特征设定模拟区:模拟区为一个矩形区域,大小为21.0 km×17.5 km,网格尺寸为70 m×70 m,共包含300×250个网格。工区由岸线高地、供给河流和敞流湖盆沉积区三部分构成,在南部设置一个带状的沿岸高地,宽度为1 km;供给河流为南北向,长为1 km、宽为500 m;高地以北的全部区域为盆地区,为斜坡地貌,初始底形平坦,坡度约为0.04°,在盆地区北侧设置敞流边界(图3)。
参照赣江浅水三角洲的水文、泥沙资料,设置模拟参数,包括河流供源条件(水排量、沉积物浓度、粒度、黏度等)、平均湖盆水位及其他相关参数。河流供给沉积物有6种不同粒度的沉积物,包括中值粒径为300 μm、150 μm、80 μm、32 μm、13 μm与7.2 μm的沉积物混合物,前三个组分为非黏性沙质沉积物,后三个组分为黏性泥质沉积物,其组成大体符合正态分布。根据赣江浅水三角洲的沉积物特征,设定沙泥比为1∶4,沙质沉积物的粒度中值为150 μm,沉积物黏度为2.0 N/m2。参考赣江的供给量特征,设置供给河流的平均水排量为1 600 m3/s,沉积物浓度为0.1 kg/m3。参考鄱阳湖的水位与水深特征,设置盆地的平均水位为2.475 m,平均水深为8.4 m(表1)。
为对比分析季节性湖平面变化对指状砂坝的控制作用,本次实验设置两个模拟,分别为S1与S2。其中,S1不考虑季节性的湖平面和供给量变化,将鄱阳湖一年的平均水位和平均供给量数据作为实验的模拟值,其供给量与湖平面水位在模拟时间内不变,分别为1 600 m3/s与2.475 m(图4)。与之对比,S2以鄱阳湖一年的真实湖平面变化和供给量数据为基础(图1),并根据抽离出的函数变化曲线,设置出S2实验中的湖平面水位值、河流供给量关键参数,用于模拟鄱阳湖真实的季节性变化趋势和幅度,具体变化曲线如图4所示,河流供给量变化幅度为3 500 m3/s,相对湖平面变化的变化幅度为7.6 m。S1与S2模拟相比,两者的供给量均值与湖平面水位均值相同,其他模拟参数也保持一致(表1)。
在保证模拟实验的精度下,模拟实验的时间步长设定为0.4 min。为了加速模拟,设置了形态尺度因子,其值为120,即代表加速120倍,本次模拟总时长5 760 h,即为实际时间80年,模拟实验S2共经历80次湖平面变化周期。前人指出,在小于200,形态尺度因子对模拟结果的地貌特征无明显影响(Caldwell and Edmonds,2014)。其他参数见表2
本文基于模拟结果,利用Matlab软件,提取时间序列的沉积地貌,识别不同的沉积微相并绘制相关的沉积厚度图与剖面图,计算指状砂坝沉积特征的定量表征参数。
多个指状砂坝构成浅水三角洲,其中指状砂坝由坝上分流河道、河口坝与天然堤组成(Fisk et al.,1954Xu et al.,2023)。根据沉积特征差异,利用模拟得到的沉积地貌与水流流速数据,可以识别出不同沉积微相,具体方法如下。
分流河道呈弯曲条带状分布,其典型特征为:活动时期水流流速较大,为沉积负地貌。通过将整个模拟时间段内的流速叠加,将累积流速大于400 m/s的区域定义为分流河道,包含了活动与废弃分流河道(图5a)。根据下切底形的深度,分流河道可以划分为深切型与浅切型,其中,深切型为下切至沉积底形的分流河道,而浅切型为未下切至沉积底形的分流河道(图5a)。
河口坝为分流河流携带沉积物在河口处堆积形成水下沉积物,其典型特征为:沉积正地貌,顶面高度低于平均湖平面。基于此,将沉积厚度位于最低湖平面以下、沉积底形以上的沉积区域,定义为河口坝,主要分布于分流河道两侧(图5c)。
天然堤为分流河道携带沉积物溢出两岸形成的水上或部分水上沉积,其典型特征为:沉积正地貌,顶面高度高于最低湖平面。基于此,将天然堤定义为:沉积厚度位于最低湖平面之上的沉积区域,其主要分布于分流河道两侧、河口坝之上(图5c)。
为了定量表征浅水三角洲指状砂坝的形态与规模特征,采用了4个定量表征参数,包括指状砂坝的个数、长度、厚度与弯曲度。
指状砂坝个数:包括活动与废弃指状砂坝的个数。值得注意的是,考虑到分流河道分叉后可能快速废弃,形成短小的指状砂坝,这种指状砂坝的研究意义不大,且不易识别,在统计个数时不作考虑。我们考虑将长度大于1 km作为统计指状砂坝个数的标准。指状砂坝的个数可以通过分流河道的个数来计算。
指状砂坝长度:指状砂坝沿着岸线垂直方向延伸的最大距离(图5a),该参数可以反映指状砂坝向盆进积能力的大小。如现代黄河三角洲指状砂坝的延伸长度约为20 km,而鄱阳湖北支的指状砂坝的延伸长度小于10 km。
指状砂坝弯曲度:指状砂坝的弯曲度定义为指状砂坝中心线的实际长度与首尾直线距离之比(图5b),反映指状砂坝整体的弯曲程度。弯曲度值大于等于1,该值越大,反映指状砂坝越弯曲。若弯曲度值小于1.1,则指状砂坝是顺直的;弯曲度值大于等于1.1,则指状砂坝是弯曲的。
在季节性湖平面变化与不变下,浅水三角洲指状砂坝的平面组合样式具有明显的差异(图6)。从指状砂坝的中心线图中可以看出,季节性湖平面变化情况下,指状砂坝数量少、延伸距离长,指状砂坝未发生明显的汇合,呈现出鸟足状的平面组合样式。局部存在小规模的指状砂坝分叉,分布于指状砂坝之间,延伸距离短、宽度小(图6a)。与之相比,在湖平面不变的条件下,指状砂坝数目较多,单个指状砂坝延伸距离短,多个指状砂坝局部不断发生分叉、汇合,形成复杂的指状砂坝网络,呈现出交织状的平面组合样式(图6b)。
在季节性湖平面变化与不变情况下,指状砂坝的个数差异明显(图7)。本文测量了在模拟时间为5 760 h时指状砂坝的个数,发现季节性湖平面变化情况下的指状砂坝个数仅为5个,而湖平面不变情况下的指状砂坝个数较多,约为12个。
同样地,指状砂坝的弯曲度也具有明显的差异(图7a)。本文基于指状砂坝的中心线平面分布(图6),测量了指状砂坝的弯曲度(图7a)。季节性湖平面变化与不变条件下的指状砂坝弯曲度均大于1.1,表现出明显的弯曲状。湖平面不变的条件下,指状砂坝弯曲度较高,介于1.30~1.85,平均约为1.53,部分指状砂坝的弯曲度可达1.82;季节性湖平面变化情况下,指状砂坝弯曲度较低,介于1.18~1.65,平均约为1.42(图7a)。
从结果上来看,湖平面不变情况下,指状砂坝长度较短,介于5.3~9.5 km,平均约为7.2 km;季节性湖平面变化情况下,指状砂坝长度较长,介于6.8~14.3 m,平均约为9.2 km(图7b)。但在季节性湖平面变与不变情况下,浅水三角洲指状砂坝的厚度差异不大(图7c)。无季节性湖平面变化情况下,指状砂坝厚度平均约为12.1 m;季节性湖平面变化情况下,指状砂坝厚度平均约为11.9 m。但无季节性湖平面变化下,厚度最大值与最小值仅相差4.8 m,而季节性湖平面变化下,厚度最大值与最小值相差15.4 m,说明季节性湖平面变化下指状砂坝的地形起伏程度大,而无季节性湖平面变化下地形相对平缓(图7c)。
浅水三角洲中指状砂坝由坝上分流河道、天然堤及河口坝组成(Fisk et al.,1954Xu et al.,2023),本文通过识别不同的沉积微相,建立了指状砂坝内部沉积微相的顺物源、切物源剖面(图89),定量分析季节性湖平面变化与不变情况下指状砂坝内沉积微相差异分布特征。
切物源剖面上,模拟实验S1、S2中指状砂坝内部主干分流河道均以深切型为主,其可深切至河口坝底部或者沉积底形。季节性湖平面变化下,指状砂坝内部分流河道较稳定,侧向迁移程度弱,深切型分流河道下切程度相对较强,深度大于14 m。随着指状砂坝延伸距离增加,浅切型分流河道数量逐渐增加,河道深度为2~3 m;湖平面不变情况下,指状砂坝内部分流河道发生一定的侧向迁移,分流河道下切程度相对较弱,深切型分流河道深度约为7 m,其右侧局部发育小规模的浅切型分流河道,河道深度约为1 m(图8b、图9b~d)。
从顺物源剖面上来看,季节性湖平面变化与不变情况下,主干分流河道两侧的小型分流河道均以浅切型分流河道为主,分流河道数目多,下切程度弱,其深度为1~4 m,部分浅切型分流河道存在河道充填沉积(图8c,d、图9e)。与湖平面不变相比,季节性湖平面变化情况下的浅切型分流河道下切程度较强,稳定性较高。
考虑分流河道两侧,最低湖平面之上的水上沉积部分为天然堤沉积。基于此,季节性湖平面变与不变下,天然堤的沉积特征差异极其明显。在季节性湖平面变化情况下,分流河道两侧发育较厚的天然堤沉积;而湖平面不变情况下,分流河道两侧天然堤发育程度极低,几乎不发育(图8b~d、图9b~e)。
从切物源剖面上来看,在季节性湖平面变化情况下,天然堤的厚度约为4 m,宽度约为800 m,由分流河道近岸向两侧缓慢减薄(图9b~d)。在指状砂坝上游处,单期天然堤厚且宽,向下游方向,单期天然堤厚度逐渐变薄,宽度逐渐变小,直至天然堤不发育(图9b~d)。从顺物源剖面上来看,天然堤的顺源延伸距离较长,约为6 km,仅在指状砂坝末端不发育,厚度顺源减薄,从4 m厚度逐渐减少至0 m(图9e)。
考虑分流河道两侧,天然堤沉积之下的水下沉积部分为河口坝沉积。季节性湖平面变化与不变情况下,河口坝发育程度均较高,表现为顺源与侧缘方向减薄,河口坝沉积内部由多个增生体组成,单个增生体厚度表现为由下至上逐渐变薄的特点(图8b~d、图9b~e)。河口坝内部增生体在切物源方向上呈上拱式,在顺源方向上呈前积式(图8b~d、图9b~e)。
切物源剖面上,在季节性湖平面变化情况下,河口坝内部单一增生体表现为中间厚、两侧薄的特点;湖平面不变情况下,河口坝内单一增生体厚度与位置无明显关系,但相对较厚(图8b、图9b)。顺物源剖面上,与湖平面不变相比,季节性湖平面变化情况下河口坝内单个增生体沉积厚度相对较薄,为1~2 m;而湖平面不变情况下的河口坝内单个增生体沉积厚度相对较厚,为3~4 m(图8c,d、图9e)。
指状砂坝组合样式、几何学特征差异受控于指状砂坝的生长过程。本节将分析季节性湖平面变化与不变下浅水三角洲前缘指状砂坝生长发育过程(图10),阐述指状砂坝的规模特征差异形成机制。
季节性湖平面变化情况下,湖平面与河流流量均发生着明显的升降变化,在枯水期,湖平面较低,河流流量也较小;而在洪水期,湖平面较高,河流流量较大。虽然,湖平面高度峰值与河流流量峰值的发育期存在一定的时间差,但是湖平面高度与河流流量具有明显的正相关趋势变化(图1)。
考虑一个自然年尺度内,湖平面高度与河流流量均表现出先增加后减少的特点。从指状砂坝的沉积过程上来看,在湖平面高度与河流流量上升的过程中,指状砂坝会发生明显的退积,分流河道不会向湖盆延伸并发生充填作用,部分小规模分流河道被完全充填而发生废弃,分流河道两侧的天然堤发生加积作用而增厚;在湖平面高度与河流流量下降的过程中,指状砂坝会发生明显的进积,分流河道快速向湖盆方向延伸,并在分流河道前端形成河口坝沉积,此时,分流河道受到河口坝的影响会发生分流与决口,形成多个末端分流河道(图11)。
从整个浅水三角洲的生命周期来看,指状砂坝的沉积演化过程主要可以分为三个阶段。
(1) 河口坝发育时期(模拟时间0~402 h):供源河流入湖,在河口处形成小型的扇状河口坝沉积,河道随着发生分流,形成左右两支分流河道,河流尚未向湖盆方向延伸,指状砂坝也未形成,为初始的沉积阶段(图11a~c)。
(2) 单个指状砂坝发育时期(模拟时间402~1 626 h):模拟时间438 h时,指状三角洲已经初具规模,在指状三角洲左侧形成指状砂坝A的雏形,并随着湖平面与流量的下降,在供给河流河口处继续发生河道分流(图11d,e)。模拟时间726 h时,湖平面与流量的再次下降,指状砂A内分流河道也同时发生分流现象,指状砂坝A面积增大(图11f)。靠近供给河流处的分流河道发生决口现象,原分流河道位置完全废弃,沉积物开始向右沉积。模拟时间978~1 626 h内,随着湖平面与流量的升降,指状砂坝A内的分流河道下游不断发生左右迁移(图11g~k),在高湖平面向低湖平面转换时,三角洲主要发生河口坝沉积和河道下切现象(图11b,d)。在模拟时间为1 626 h时,指状砂坝A已经基本形成,呈弯曲蛇状向湖盆延伸近8 km(图11k)
(3) 多个指状砂坝发育时期(模拟时间1 626~4 398 h):模拟时间1 806 h时,湖平面与流量的下降,导致河道作用进一步增强,靠近供给河流处的分流河道再次发生分流现象,此时指状砂坝A基本废弃(图11i)。而后随着湖平面与流量的上升,沉积物沉积范围增大,在模拟时间2 202 h时,指状砂坝B、C雏形基本形成(图11m)。在之后的2 000 h的模拟时间内,湖平面与流量的升降变化,指状砂坝B、C内的分流河道下游不断发生侧向迁移、分流现象,导致指状砂坝的面积、长度和弯曲度也不断增大(图11n~r)。最终,在盆地内部形成由3条主要指状砂坝组成的鸟足状浅水三角洲(图11q)。
因此,在探讨浅水三角洲前缘指状砂坝的演化机制时,季节性湖平面变化作为关键驱动力,其影响过程展现出一种渐进且累积的效应。在高水位时,指状砂坝内天然堤发生垂向加积作用,增加砂坝的高度,也强化了其结构稳定性。相反,在低水位时,指状砂坝内发生分流河道的侵蚀—搬运,部分沉积物被冲刷至下游形成河口坝沉积,指状砂坝长度增加。季节性湖平面的频繁波动,正是通过上述垂向加积与侵蚀搬运的交替作用,驱动指状砂坝不断稳固地向前推进,最终形成了具有典型鸟足状的指状砂坝组合样式。
为了验证本实验过程和模拟结果的可靠性,与鄱阳湖浅水三角洲指状砂坝、渤海湾盆地明化镇组指状砂坝开展沉积特征相似性分析。由于沉积时间长短不同,三角洲的宏观规模存在差异,这里不作过多对比,而是重点开展指状砂坝的几何形态、定量规模与微相分布特征的相似性对比。
季节性湖平面变化条件下,模拟的指状砂坝表现出鸟足状的平面组合样式,指状砂坝个数为5个,平均弯曲度为1.42。同样地,鄱阳湖指状砂坝也以鸟足状的平面组合样式为主(图12),单条供给河流形成的指状砂坝的个数(长度小于1 km不计数)多为1~4个,其中位于鄱阳湖中心指状砂坝BSD1-2、7-10的弯曲度平均值为1.24,存在于鄱阳湖东部的章田河三角洲指状砂坝弯曲度平均值为1.41,与模拟S2相比,弯曲度值之差小于0.18(表3)。针对地下储层,渤海湾盆地明化镇组V3.2小层中指状砂坝也为鸟足状,弯曲度值为1.29,且向盆地方向弯曲度逐渐增加(图13a、表3)(Xu et al.,2023)。因此,沉积数值模拟结果与现代沉积、地下储层指状砂坝沉积的几何形态具有相似性。
季节性湖平面变化下,模拟的指状砂坝的长度平均为9.2 km,平均厚度为11.9 m;鄱阳湖浅水三角洲指状砂坝的延伸长度一般介于7.2~8.7 km,厚度一般小于4 m(Xu et al.,2022)。沉积数值模拟结果与鄱阳湖浅水三角洲指状砂坝的定量规模基本相似,模拟结果的指状砂坝厚度略大,与其模拟时间较长、天然堤加积时间也较长相关。同样地,渤海湾盆地明化镇组指状砂坝平均长度为9.5 km,与模拟结果近乎一致(徐振华等,2019)。指状砂坝厚度中间厚两边薄,中心局部厚度达到10 m,指状砂坝内厚度起伏差异大,与模拟结果的指状砂坝规模具有相似性(图7c、图13b)。
季节性湖平面变化条件下,模拟实验S2指状砂坝内部的分流河道以深切型为主,下切深度大、稳定性较高,天然堤的厚度与宽度大,河口坝内部单一增生体的厚度大;鄱阳湖浅水三角洲指状砂坝的分流河道也以深切型为主,下切深度大、稳定性较高,天然堤的厚度与宽度大,河口坝内部单一增生体的厚度大(图14a)(Xu et al.,2022)。同样的,BZ25油田V3.2小层剖面内,靠近物源方向分流河道为深切型,其下切于底部厚层河口坝沉积,天然堤披覆在分流河道两侧。随着延伸距离的增加,分流河道下切程度随之减小,分流河道由深切型过渡为浅切型(徐振华等,2019)。因此,沉积数值模拟结果与鄱阳湖指状砂坝沉积、地下储层指状砂坝沉积的微相分布特征也高度相似(图14b)。
前人认为供给河流物质是影响河控三角洲前缘砂体的关键因素,细粒、高黏性的沉积物供给能够促进天然堤的加积,提升天然堤的黏聚力,有利于指状砂坝型的鸟足状三角洲形成;而粗粒、低黏性的沉积物则导致河口坝的快速沉积与分流河道的分流,促进分流砂坝型的朵状三角洲形成,以分流砂坝为主(Fisk et al.,1954Edmonds and Slingerland,20072010Burpee et al.,2015)。基于地质考察发现,赣江4条主要分支河道流入鄱阳湖后,携带的沉积物均表现出粒度较细(细—粉沙为主)、泥沙比较低(0.2~1.5),黏度较高(临界剪切应力大于1 N/m2)的特点(Xu et al.,2022)。因此,赣江北支与南支流入鄱阳湖后均形成指状砂坝沉积。除了供给河流物质,河流排量是影响指状砂坝形成的重要因素。Xu et al.(2021a)基于沉积数值模拟研究发现,在高河流排量下,河控三角洲容易发育分流与决口并形成朵状砂体;在低排量下,河控三角洲内分流河道较稳定,易形成指状砂坝。
在低排量、细粒度、高泥沙比、高黏度的供给背景下,浅水三角洲前缘易于形成指状砂坝,但沉积数值模拟结果表明,指状砂坝的沉积特征会受到季节性湖平面变化的影响。季节性湖平面变化体现在湖平面与河流流量的季节性变化上,一般而言,枯水期的湖平面低、河流流量小,洪水期的湖平面高、河流流量大,湖平面高度与河流流量具有正相关关系。
就季节性湖平面变化而言,湖平面下降,河口处的水深减小,分流河道不断向湖盆延伸,河口坝随之快速沉积,又导致分流河道的分流与决口。若湖平面上升,河流供给沉积物中的细粒悬浮物质增加并在分流河道两侧沉积,导致天然堤不断加积增厚,主干分流河道的稳定性增强,而次级分流河道则被快速充填废弃,形成废弃河道。而河口处的水深增加导致分流河道难以进积,反而发生退积作用。因此,指状砂坝的进积和末端多支分流河道的形成,与季节性湖平面下降密切相关;天然堤的加积增厚和分流河道的废弃优选,与季节性湖平面上升密切相关。
基于沉积数值模拟结果,本次建立了季节性湖平面变化下浅水三角洲前缘指状砂坝的构型模式(图15),即:季节性湖平面变化的情况下,浅水三角洲前缘指状砂坝呈鸟足状平面组合样式,可以向盆地延伸较远距离,分流河道以深切型为主,天然堤发育程度高。随着延伸距离的增加,废弃河道数目增多,分流河道由深切型过渡为浅切型,天然堤厚度逐渐变薄。在靠近湖盆中心处,指状砂坝内发育浅切型分流河道,而天然堤几乎不发育。相较于湖平面保持恒定状态下,季节性湖平面的波动对指状砂坝内天然堤的发育展现出显著影响,湖平面的变化波动不仅促进了天然堤的发育,还显著增加了其沉积厚度,进一步提高了分流河道及指状砂坝的稳定性。
本文基于沉积数值模拟,首次分析了季节性湖平面变化情况下,指状砂坝沉积的构型特征。然而,沉积数值模拟过程中存在多种假设,模拟条件也很难与自然界中的真实复杂沉积条件相同,其模拟结果虽与现代沉积表现出相似性,但仍然具有一定的差异性。因此,在未来的研究工作中,基于现代沉积地质勘测、水槽模拟以及多组沉积数值模拟,开展更为深入、定量化沉积构型与生长演化分析,对于深化浅水三角洲前缘指状砂坝沉积学研究具有较大的科学价值。
(1) 季节性湖平面变化下,指状砂坝生长稳定,其平面组合样式以鸟足状指状砂坝为主,指状砂坝个数较少、弯曲度小、但长度更长、厚度起伏大。指状砂坝以深切型分流河道为主,天然堤厚度大、宽度长,河口坝内部增生体厚度大。
(2) 单个湖平面变化周期内,湖平面下降时,指状砂坝发生进积,分流河道以侵蚀为主并快速延伸,并在分流河道前端形成河口坝沉积,天然堤几乎不发育;湖平面上升时,指状砂坝发生退积,分流河道以河道内沉积为主,分流河道发生废弃优选,分流河道两侧的天然堤加积并不断增厚。
(3) 季节性的湖平面变化是形成指状砂坝的重要控制因素,其促进了天然堤的发育,提高了分流河道及指状砂坝的稳定性,从而倾向于形成鸟足状的指状砂坝。
