At high subcritical Reynolds numbers, the flow past the circular cylinder has two types of complex flow phenomena, namely massive separation flow and shear layer transition. The traditional Improved Detached Eddy Simulation method (IDDES) is based on a fully turbulent assumption and is not suitable for dealing with transition. Meanwhile, the transition models (TRANS) based on the RANS method are incompetent to simulate the three-dimensional turbulent structure caused by massive separation. Therefore, this article integrates the IDDES approach with the TRANS model to develop an IDDES-Tr model capable of simultaneously resolving massive flow separation and shear layer transition. Numerical simulations were conducted for flow around a cylinder at a high subcritical Reynolds number of Re=1.4×105, with results subsequently validated against experimental data. The comparison demonstrates a strong agreement between the simulation and experimental data, indicating that the IDDES-Tr model accurately captures the features of flow around a cylinder at high subcritical Reynolds numbers. In other words, the new model can effectively simulate simultaneously massive separation and shear layer transition.

在高亚临界雷诺数下,圆柱绕流具有大分离流动及剪切层层流-湍流转捩流动两类复杂流动现象。目前主流的脱体涡方法(IDDES)是基于完全湍流建立的,不能处理转捩问题,而针对转捩问题的TRANS(Transition RANS)方法又不能模拟大分离引起的三维湍流结构。为此,本文将IDDES方法与TRANS模型相结合,构建可同时模拟大分离流动及剪切层转捩流动的IDDES-Tr模型,对Re=1.4×105的高亚临界雷诺数下圆柱绕流进行数值模拟,并与试验结果进行对比验证。结果表明,本文数值模拟结果与试验高度吻合,这说明构建的IDDES-Tr模型可准确模拟高亚临界雷诺数圆柱绕流,具备了同时模拟大分离流动及剪切层转捩流动的能力。

在高亚临界雷诺数下,圆柱绕流具有大分离流动及剪切层层流-湍流转捩流动两类复杂流动现象。目前主流的脱体涡方法(IDDES)是基于完全湍流建立的,不能处理转捩问题,而针对转捩问题的TRANS(Transition RANS)方法又不能模拟大分离引起的三维湍流结构。为此,本文将IDDES方法与TRANS模型相结合,构建可同时模拟大分离流动及剪切层转捩流动的IDDES-Tr模型,对Re=1.4×105的高亚临界雷诺数下圆柱绕流进行数值模拟,并与试验结果进行对比验证。结果表明,本文数值模拟结果与试验高度吻合,这说明构建的IDDES-Tr模型可准确模拟高亚临界雷诺数圆柱绕流,具备了同时模拟大分离流动及剪切层转捩流动的能力。

At high subcritical Reynolds numbers, the flow past the circular cylinder has two types of complex flow phenomena, namely massive separation flow and shear layer transition. The traditional Improved Detached Eddy Simulation method (IDDES) is based on a fully turbulent assumption and is not suitable for dealing with transition. Meanwhile, the transition models (TRANS) based on the RANS method are incompetent to simulate the three-dimensional turbulent structure caused by massive separation. Therefore, this article integrates the IDDES approach with the TRANS model to develop an IDDES-Tr model capable of simultaneously resolving massive flow separation and shear layer transition. Numerical simulations were conducted for flow around a cylinder at a high subcritical Reynolds number of Re=1.4×105, with results subsequently validated against experimental data. The comparison demonstrates a strong agreement between the simulation and experimental data, indicating that the IDDES-Tr model accurately captures the features of flow around a cylinder at high subcritical Reynolds numbers. In other words, the new model can effectively simulate simultaneously massive separation and shear layer transition.

钝体绕流是常见的流动现象,其中的大分离流动及剪切层转捩是最复杂和最具有挑战性的流体力学难题之一。对于雷诺数Re=1.4×105的圆柱绕流,其流动已接近亚临界流动的极限,在该雷诺数下同时存在层流边界层分离、自由剪切层的层流–湍流转捩及尾流区的旋涡脱落,是兼具上述两类难题的典型算例。
Cantwell和Coles[1]最早对高亚临界雷诺数Re=1.4×105圆柱绕流进行了试验研究,提供了大量测量结果。而后,相关数值模拟研究均以此试验为对标。由于该问题非常复杂,研究人员通常将大分离流动或剪切层转捩的其中之一忽略,单独研究另外一种流动,如Zheng等[2]采用尺度解析模拟方法(Scale Resolving Simulation,SRS)中的脱体涡模拟(Detached Eddy Simulation,DES)及自适应尺度模拟(Scale Adaptive Simulation,SAS)两种方法,Luo等[3]采用SST-DES及局部时均化模型(Partially Averaged Navier Stokes Model,PANS模型),Pereira等[4]及Lakshmipathy等[5]采用SST-PANS,Zhao等[6]采用SST-DES,Mays等[7]采用延迟脱体涡模型(Delayed Detached Eddy Simulation,DDES)和尺度混合解析模型(Scale Resolving Hybrid Model,SRH模型),分别对Re=1.4×105圆柱绕流进行了数值仿真,但均未在方程中考虑转捩,因此计算结果与试验结果相差较大。Pereira等[4]用雷诺平均方法(RANS)之TRANS(Transition RANS),基于SST γ-Reθ转捩模型对Re=1.4×105圆柱绕流进行了计算,虽然考虑了转捩,但RANS方法无法解析大分离引起的三维湍流结构[8]
上述研究均受限于SRS及TRANS方法两者本身对大分离流动或剪切层转捩求解的局限性,即SRS可求解大分离湍流相干结构,但无法求解转捩问题,而TRANS方法可求解剪切层转捩,但在捕捉三维涡结构方面力有未逮。有鉴于此,相关学者提出可将SRS及TRANS二者相结合,以达到同时求解大分离流动及转捩流动之目的。如Xiao等[9]将DDES与k-ω-γ模型相结合,Zhou等[10]将DDES与SST γ-Reθ相结合,Fard等[11]将DDES与SST γ相结合,分别提出了DDES-Tr模型。Feng等[12]将IDDES与SST γ相结合,Cui等[13]将IDDES与k-ω-γ模型相结合,易淼荣等[14-15]将IDDES与SST γ-Reθ相结合,分别提出了不同的IDDES-Tr模型。You等[16]将SAS与SST γ-Reθ相结合,提出了SAS-Tr模型。
为处理Re=1.4×105圆柱绕流中同时存在的转捩及大分离流动,早期Travin等[17]基于SA-DES方法,并采用人工干预的方法(Trip-Less)使流动在分离前为层流,分离后转换成湍流以模拟转捩,但该方法预设了转捩位置,在工程上不具有通用性。近年来,Kim等[18]将IDDES方法与TRANS γ-Reθt-CF+相结合,提出了“blended model”,通过引入$ {\tilde f_d} $的截断函数,从而将TRANS与IDDES区域进行区分。不足的是,在$ 0 \lt {\tilde f_d} \lt 1 $的RANS与LES的混合区域没有做到很好的结合,在该部分采用的是RANS求解而非TRANS求解。同时,Kim等[18]只对比了Re=1.4×105圆柱绕流的压力系数分布和尾流中线速度,且尾流中线速度与试验结果差异明显。Wang等[19]将DDES与TRANS方法k-ω-γ相结合,提出了RANS-LES-Tr模型,通过引入间歇因子γ来桥接TRANS区域和DDES区域。不足的是,k-ω-γ转捩模型主要用于高超声速下的转捩预测,其压力系数分布的数值计算结果与超临界雷诺数圆柱绕流的结果相近,而与亚临界雷诺数Re=1.4×105下的圆柱绕流试验结果相差很大。Mays等[7]将DDES及SRH混合模型与转捩模型γ-Reθ相结合,对Re=1.4×105圆柱绕流进行计算,但是他未考虑两种模型结合时的兼容性问题,因此压力系数分布与试验结果差异巨大。杜磊等[20]将SST-SAS和γ-Reθ相结合,但其压力系数分布的数值计算结果也与试验结果相差很大。对于雷诺数Re=1.4×105的圆柱绕流,目前还没有方法可以充分解决其同时存在的大分离流动及转捩流动计算难题。
有鉴于此,本文考虑了IDDES方法与转捩方法相结合时均需对毁灭项进行修正从而产生干扰的兼容性问题,通过将IDDES方法与SST γ转捩模型结合,构建了IDDES-Tr模型。将该模型植入自研软件平台NUWA: FLOWUV,对Re=1.4×105的高亚临界雷诺数下圆柱绕流进行了数值模拟,并与试验结果及其他学者的计算结果进行了对比研究。
SST γ模型是Menter等[21]在SST γ-Reθ模型基础上发展而来的先进转捩模型,具有γ-Reθ缺少的伽利略不变性且具有更好的通用性[22],其湍流方程表示如下

式中:γ为间歇因子,表示流场的层流/湍流流动状态,通过如下方程求解

间歇因子γ是层流边界层与湍流边界层之间转换的一个触发函数。当γ=1时,模型扮演解析湍流边界层的作用。当γ=0时,模型扮演解析层流边界层的作用。该模型其他参数的详细取值可参考文献[21]。
IDDES方法[23]通过修改湍动能k方程的毁灭项,使方程在近壁面主要采用RANS模式,而在远离壁面以及流动分离区域采用LES模式。其k方程为

式中:$ {l_{{\mathrm{IDDES}}}} $为IDDES模型的长度尺度,表达式为
$ {l_{{\mathrm{IDDES}}}} = {\tilde f_d} \cdot {l_{{\mathrm{RANS}}}} + (1 - {\tilde f_d}) \cdot {l_{{\mathrm{LES}}}} $
式中:$ {\tilde f_d} $为过渡函数。在湍流脉动较小的近壁面区域$ {\tilde f_d} = 1 $,式(5)等效为RANS模式;在湍流脉动较大的远壁面区域$ {\tilde f_d} = 0 $,式(5)等效为LES模式;在这两个区域之间,$ 0 \lt {\tilde f_d} \lt 1 $,为RANS模式及LES模式的过渡,这是IDDES方法与传统RANS模型结合的方式。当IDDES方法与TRANS模型结合时,由式(1)及式(3)可知,TRANS模型同样对k方程进行了修正,因此二者结合时将面临相互干扰从而产生兼容性问题[13]
Mays等[7]未考虑兼容性问题,Wang等[19]结合的转捩模型主要适用于高超声速下转捩流动,Kim等[18]在TRANS和LES的混合区域没有做到很好的结合,因此上述学者对Re=1.4×105圆柱绕流的计算结果均与试验值相差很大。对IDDES与TRANS结合的兼容性问题还没有得到很好的解决。事实上,考虑到当转捩模型和IDDES同时打开时,在层流和转捩区可能会因γ转捩模型的影响,使长度尺度的判断出现错误。针对该问题,本文借鉴Cui等[13]将IDDES与TRANS相结合的方式,引入限制以确保γ转捩模型作用于层流或转捩区域,而IDDES-Tr模型的长度尺度仅作用于完全湍流区域。IDDES-Tr模型的长度尺度表达式如下

结合该处理方式,将SST γ转捩模型与IDDES方法相结合,通过修改式(1)的毁灭项,建立IDDES-Tr模型,表示如下

式中:lIDDES-Tr为IDDES-Tr模型的长度尺度,其表达式为式(7)。在式(7)中,sign函数用于区分转捩RANS部分或IDDES部分,C是一个经验常数,取值为C=0.99。当$ \gamma \lt C $时,$ {\text{sign(}}1.0,\gamma - C{\text{)}} = - 1 $,此时,$ {l_{{\mathrm{IDDES - Tr}}}} = {l_{{\mathrm{RANS}}}} $,IDDES-Tr模型的RANS部分起作用,扮演转捩模型作用。当$ \gamma \geqslant C $时,此时,$ {\text{sign(}}1.0,\gamma - C{\text{)}} = 1 $,IDDES-Tr模型扮演IDDES的作用,即用LES求解基于转捩模型的湍流部分。式(7)中$ {l_{{\mathrm{RANS}}}} $$ {l_{{\mathrm{LES}}}} $分别为RANS含能尺度和LES长度尺度,定义如下

式中出现的其他参数与传统IDDES方法一致,详细取值可参考文献[24],本文不再赘述。
本文采用的计算域为圆柱形区域,圆柱形计算域的直径为30D,圆柱展向长度为2D,其中D为圆柱直径。基于该直径的雷诺数Re=ρUD/μ=1.4×105图1(a)所示为该圆柱形区域的横截面,其中XY坐标系为本文采用的坐标系,坐标原点位于圆柱圆心位置,X轴为水平方向,其中来流方向为正,Y轴为垂直方向。圆柱形计算区域包含四个边界–入口、出口、展向边界及圆柱壁面,其中X轴负半轴为入口边界,X轴正半轴为出口边界。边界条件设置为:入口边界设置为速度入口边界条件,湍流度设置为0.6%,与Cantwell等[1]的试验保持一致,出口设置为零压梯度出口边界条件,展向边界设置为对称边界条件,圆柱壁面设置为无滑移边界条件。如图1所示,θ为圆柱表面角度坐标,以圆柱迎流面驻点处为0点,背流面尾缘点处为180°点,以顺时针方向转动为正。
本文采用六面体结构化网格,并设计三套不同网格进行数值计算,不同网格在X、Y、Z方向上均按照1.2增长率增长,计算结果如表1图2所示,其中Cd表示时均阻力系数,Cpb为尾缘点压力系数,St为斯特劳哈尔数,θsep为分离角,Lr/D为无量纲回流区长度,U/U为无量纲流向速度。由表1图2可知,中等网格和稀疏网格的相关流场统计量、圆柱表面时均压力系数分布以及沿尾流中线时均流向速度分布的计算结果均差异较大,而中等网格和密网格在相关流场统计量、圆柱表面时均压力系数分布以及沿尾流中线时均流向速度分布的计算结果上基本一致,可见继续增加网格量并不能提高计算精度。在考虑计算资源情况下,本文选择中等网格为计算网格,其近壁面y+分布如图3所示,由图可知在计算过程中能满足整个近壁面的y+均小于1,该网格沿径向的增长率为1.1。压力速度解耦采用PIMPLE算法[25],对流项及扩散项的空间离散采用二阶中心差分格式,时间离散格式为二阶隐式格式中的backward格式。
数值计算的时长为50个涡脱落周期。将初始的20个周期进行舍弃,对后30个周期的数据进行统计平均。表2为不同湍流模型的流场统计量数值计算结果,由表可见,本文的IDDES-Tr (NUWA)模型在Cd的计算上同Kim的计算结果一致,较为接近试验结果,明显优于DDES-Tr;在Cpb的计算上同Kim及Wang的计算结果一致,较为接近试验结果;在θsep的计算上优于Wang的计算结果,接近试验结果;尤其注意的是,IDDES-Tr的Lr/D 计算结果为0.533,与试验结果(0.4~0.5)高度吻合,而Mays 的DDES-Tr、Wang 的DDES-Tr及Kim的IDDES-Tr的Lr/D结果分别为1.04、0.72和1.01,与试验结果有很大差距。由此可见,本文提出的IDDES-Tr模型在处理高亚临界雷诺数圆柱绕流这一类问题上具有一定的优越性。
图4为IDDES-Tr(NUWA)模型的圆柱表面时均压力系数计算结果,其中横轴θ为圆柱表面角度坐标,纵轴Cp为压力系数。图中,三角形为Cantwell等[1]的试验结果,红色实线为IDDES-Tr(NUWA)的计算结果,蓝色点划线为Wang的DDES-Tr计算结果,黑色实线为Mays的DDES-Tr计算结果,洋红色虚线为Kim的IDDES-Tr计算结果。由图可见,在0<θ<100°范围内,IDDES-Tr的计算结果均与试验结果吻合良好,在100<θ<180°范围内,IDDES-Tr结果与试验值有一定的差距,但仍优于Mays的DDES-Tr模型的计算结果。Mays和Wang的DDES-Tr模型在40<θ<100°范围内压力系数相比试验值大幅偏低,相关研究[13]认为这是由于边界层分离预测延迟,流动在圆柱表面加速过多造成的。事实上,Mays和Wang的DDES-Tr计算结果更接近超临界雷诺数下的试验结果[26-27]。文献[28]认为这种现象是由于湍流模型预测了更高强度的湍流,而非本文的亚临界流动。
图5为IDDES-Tr(NUWA)模型在圆柱尾流中线的时均流向速度分布。曲线设置与图2相同,在此不再赘述。由图可知,IDDES-Tr模型在整个尾流中线均与试验结果吻合良好,仅在X/D=1.5~2.5区域内略大于试验值。而Wang的DDES-Tr和Kim的IDDES-Tr模型在回流区长度预测偏大,与试验结果差异较大。
图6为IDDES-Tr(NUWA)模型在圆柱尾流区X/D=1站位的时均速度分布,其中图6(a)为流向速度,6(b)为垂向速度。由图6可知,IDDES-Tr模型在站位X/D=1处的速度分布与试验高度吻合,而Wang的DDES-Tr模型的计算结果在流向速度上差异明显,回流区偏大。
图7为IDDES-Tr(NUWA)模型在X/D=1站位处的雷诺应力分布,其中图7(a)为雷诺应力分量u'u'图7(b)为分量v'v'图7(c)为切应力u'v'。由图7(a)~(b)可知, IDDES-Tr及Wang的DDES-Tr模型所预测的正应力分布形态均与试验结果一致,其中IDDES-Tr对u'u'的峰值预测偏高,对v'v'的预测与试验结果一致。由图7(c)可知, IDDES-Tr对切应力的预测与试验高度吻合,而Wang的DDES-Tr对u'v'的峰值预测偏低,且分布形态与试验结果差异较大。
本文将IDDES方法及SST γ转捩模型相结合,构建了可同时模拟大分离流动及剪切层转捩的IDDES-Tr模型,对Re=1.4×105高亚临界雷诺数圆柱绕流进行了数值模拟,并与试验及其他数值计算研究结果进行了对比,主要得出如下结论:
(1) 构建的IDDES-Tr模型数值模拟结果与试验结果高度吻合,相比其他数值计算结果更加贴合试验,这说明构建的模型可精确模拟高亚临界雷诺数圆柱绕流。
(2) IDDES-Tr模型充分考虑了转捩模型对IDDES方法的修正干扰问题,相比其他同类方法计算效果更佳,具备同时模拟大分离流动及剪切层转捩的能力。
