Based on the STAR-CCM+ software, CFD-DEM method was used to simulate the process of a type of an actual built transport ship sailing in a brash ice channel. The influence of different drafts on the resistance performance of the ship was studied. The interaction between the ship and water was obtained using CFD method. A numerical brash ice particle model was established using DEM method, the ship-ice collision phenomena and the brash ice resistance were studied. The results show that the distribution pattern of brash ice particles obtained based on the above method agrees well with that of the test conducted in Hamburg Ship Model Basin (HSVA). The total resistance of the numerical prediction varies little from the model test results. Also, the numerical method performs much better than the FSICR empirical formula's prediction, which verifies the reliability of the present method. The ice resistance of the whole ship does not show a monotonically decreasing trend with the decrease of draft, but increases significantly when a specific draft is reached. At a small draft, the change in trim has a little effect on the ice resistance of the whole ship, but has a large effect on the proportion of ice resistances of the fore, middle, aft and bottom parts of the hull.

本文针对一型实际建造的碎冰区运输船,基于STAR-CCM+软件,采用CFD-DEM数值模拟方法,模拟其在碎冰航道中的航行过程,开展不同吃水工况对船舶阻力性能影响的研究。此外,利用CFD方法求解船与水的相互作用,DEM方法则被用于建立碎冰颗粒数值模型,对船-冰碰撞现象以及冰阻力性能进行数值模拟。结果表明:数值模拟的碎冰颗粒分布形态与汉堡冰水池试验现象相吻合,总阻力数值预报结果与汉堡冰水池试验结果差异较小,明显优于FSICR经验公式的预报精度,验证了该方法的可靠性;整船冰阻力随着吃水的降低未呈现单调下降趋势,在达到特定吃水时,整船冰阻力会显著上升;浅吃水时,尾倾变化对整船冰阻力影响较小,但对船体首部、两侧、尾部和底部四个区域所受冰阻力占比影响较大。

本文针对一型实际建造的碎冰区运输船,基于STAR-CCM+软件,采用CFD-DEM数值模拟方法,模拟其在碎冰航道中的航行过程,开展不同吃水工况对船舶阻力性能影响的研究。此外,利用CFD方法求解船与水的相互作用,DEM方法则被用于建立碎冰颗粒数值模型,对船-冰碰撞现象以及冰阻力性能进行数值模拟。结果表明:数值模拟的碎冰颗粒分布形态与汉堡冰水池试验现象相吻合,总阻力数值预报结果与汉堡冰水池试验结果差异较小,明显优于FSICR经验公式的预报精度,验证了该方法的可靠性;整船冰阻力随着吃水的降低未呈现单调下降趋势,在达到特定吃水时,整船冰阻力会显著上升;浅吃水时,尾倾变化对整船冰阻力影响较小,但对船体首部、两侧、尾部和底部四个区域所受冰阻力占比影响较大。

Based on the STAR-CCM+ software, CFD-DEM method was used to simulate the process of a type of an actual built transport ship sailing in a brash ice channel. The influence of different drafts on the resistance performance of the ship was studied. The interaction between the ship and water was obtained using CFD method. A numerical brash ice particle model was established using DEM method, the ship-ice collision phenomena and the brash ice resistance were studied. The results show that the distribution pattern of brash ice particles obtained based on the above method agrees well with that of the test conducted in Hamburg Ship Model Basin (HSVA). The total resistance of the numerical prediction varies little from the model test results. Also, the numerical method performs much better than the FSICR empirical formula's prediction, which verifies the reliability of the present method. The ice resistance of the whole ship does not show a monotonically decreasing trend with the decrease of draft, but increases significantly when a specific draft is reached. At a small draft, the change in trim has a little effect on the ice resistance of the whole ship, but has a large effect on the proportion of ice resistances of the fore, middle, aft and bottom parts of the hull.

随着全球气温的持续升高,极地冰盖加速融化,北极航线的开辟和矿产资源的开发已经成为当前船舶业界的热门话题,也必将刺激市场产生更多的冰区运输船订单。北极航线将大大缩短三大经济热点地区(欧洲、北美和东亚)之间的航线里程,促使全球航运市场格局发生重大变革。
碎冰区运输船在《极地规则》(Polar Code,缩写为PC)中被定义为B类船舶[1],需要满足船舶能效设计指数(Energy Efficiency Design Index,缩写为EEDI)的规范要求,这便限制了其主机功率的配置上限。同时,冰区航行时需要具备在最低航速下连续破冰的能力,例如芬兰-瑞典冰级规范(Finnish Swedish ice class rules,缩写为FSICR)要求[2-3]最低航速为5 kn,主机需要提供足够的输出功率,这便限制了主机功率的配置下限。因此,碎冰区运输船主机功率配置既要满足破冰能力要求,又要满足EEDI要求,这便对主机功率预报提出了很高的精度要求。
冰阻力是影响主机功率的核心研究内容。目前,碎冰区运输船冰阻力的预报方法主要有三种[4],第一种是冰池模型试验,第二种是FSICR经验公式,第三种是数值模拟。
冰池模型试验被认为是最准确的预报方法[5],但是冰池模型试验通常受制于水池排期,同时其经济成本较高,通常在项目后期才开展。
目前FSICR经验公式[2-3]是项目前期预报的主要手段,其基于Riska[6]公式逐步修改完善得到。尽管该方法有着便于使用等优势,但是其预报结果往往过于保守,需要依赖一定的经验修正,才能获得相对准确的功率预报。
数值模拟是近年来兴起的一种预报方法,多见于科学研究[6-11],工程应用较少。冰阻力与冰的材料属性、船体线型和航速关系密切。由于船舶在冰区航行是一种复杂的非线性动态响应过程,加上冰本构模型的复杂性,国内外还没有一种有效而准确的冰阻力数值预报方法。郭春雨等[7]利用Ls-dyna软件的罚函数算法和流固耦合算法,对KCS船的平吃水工况在碎冰中航行的过程进行了数值模拟;刘德良[8]基于Ls-dyna软件,以一型多用途船的满载吃水为研究工况,探究了摩擦阻力系数和冰块厚度等因素对碰撞力的影响;金强等[9]采用离散元方法建立浮/碎冰模型,结合欧拉多相流(Euler Multiphase Flow’s Volume of Fluid,缩写为VOF)方法,针对一型极地运输船的满载吃水工况,模拟了船舶与浮/碎冰之间的接触碰撞过程;国威等[10]基于计算流体力学(Computational Fluid Dynamics,缩写为CFD)和离散元法(Discrete Element Method,缩写为DEM)相结合的数值模拟方法,研究了满载吃水下,航速和碎冰厚度对冰阻力的影响规律;Luo等[11]基于STAR-CCM+软件,利用CFD-DEM方法,针对一型实际建造冰区加强运输船,将满载吃水下的碎冰阻力性能预报结果与试验结果进行了对比,又研究了接触模型和碎冰粒子形状对碎冰航道中冰阻力的影响;Zhang等[12]基于STAR-CCM+软件,利用CFD-DEM方法,针对一型阿芙拉油船,探索了满载吃水下,不同网格密度和三种碰撞模型对该船在碎冰航道中总阻力的影响。
尽管已经有学者对运输船的碎冰阻力数值预报方法开展了研究,然而研究对象多针对满载吃水工况。对于运输船来说,除了满载吃水工况,另一个典型场景是压载吃水工况。该工况与船舶的压载布置相关,通常尾吃水大于首吃水,有一定纵倾。有试验结果显示,压载吃水下的冰阻力可能大于满载吃水下的冰阻力。图1为汉堡冰水池碎冰试验的实拍照片,由图可以发现,满载吃水下碎冰仅沿着舷侧滑动,而压载吃水下,碎冰除了沿着舷侧滑动以外,还会流入船底,此时碎冰与船体接触面积更大,导致了更大的冰阻力。因此,研究船舶在不同吃水下的冰阻力差异具有重要的工程意义。
针对上述问题,本文基于STAR-CCM+软件,采用CFD-DEM数值模拟方法,针对一型实际建造的碎冰区运输船,选取多个不同吃水工况,开展FSICR 1A冰级下的碎冰阻力性能研究工作,建立碎冰颗粒模型,将数值模拟获得的船-冰碰撞后碎冰颗粒分布形态与汉堡冰水池试验进行比较,同时比较分析阻力数值预报结果与FSICR经验公式预报结果、汉堡冰水池试验结果之间的差异。随后基于该数值方法,研究不同吃水对阻力性能的影响规律。本文研究成果可为实船功率预报和船型设计提供参考。
运输船在碎冰航道中航行时,涉及船-水-冰三者的相互作用,此时船舶受到的总阻力可分为水阻力与冰阻力两部分。针对上述场景,基于STAR-CCM+软件,采用CFD-DEM数值模拟方法,对船舶在碎冰航道中的阻力性能进行研究。其中,采用CFD方法求解船-水的相互作用,计算得到船体水阻力;利用DEM方法模拟船-冰的相互作用,获得船体碎冰阻力;水和碎冰的相互作用力采用浮力和拖曳力模型。

式中,uiuj为流体在不同方向上的速度,xixj为流体在不同方向上的位移,t为时间,μ为流体动力粘性系数,ρ为流体密度,pi为微元上的压力,Si为广义源项,k为湍动能,ε为湍流动能耗散率,μt为湍流动力粘性系数,Gk为速度梯度引起的湍动能产生项,σkσε分别为1.0和1.2,Cε1Cε2分别为1.44和1.92。
两个粒子之间的接触力[13]可以描述为
式中,Fnij为法向力,Ftij为切向力。
法向力可以表示为
式中,KnNn分别为弹簧的法向刚度系数和阻尼系数,Vn为接触点处法向的速度分量。
切向力可以表示为
式中,KtNt分别为弹簧的切向刚度系数和阻尼系数,Cfs为摩擦阻力系数,Dt为单元接触点的法向和切向之间的重叠量,Vt为接触点处切向的速度分量。
本研究采用实尺度建模进行计算。本文选取的运输船计算模型如图2所示。
该船在汉堡冰水池开展了满载和压载两个吃水的船模试验,船型参数见表1
计算域和碎冰航道如图3所示。长度方向为8Lpp,宽度方向为2Lpp,高度方向为3Lpp。入口、侧面、顶部和底部边界设置为速度入口,出口设置为压力出口,船、碎冰颗粒和层冰区设置为固定壁面。采用两层全y+法的剪切应力传输(SST)k-ω湍流模型,具有高分辨率界面捕捉能力的VOF方法[14]捕捉自由面,在入口、出口和侧面设立波浪阻尼区,以避免非物理反射。碎冰航道宽度为2B,与汉堡冰水池试验保持一致。数值模拟采用相对坐标系,船身固定不动,水与碎冰颗粒流向船体方向,速度等于船速(5 kn)。
图4(a)为汉堡冰水池碎冰试验实拍照片。显然,在船模试验中碎冰颗粒形状各异,因此很难准确地描述碎冰颗粒的几何形状。参考试验实拍照片与相关的研究成果[11-12],在数值计算中将碎冰颗粒的几何外形设置为不规则棱台形状,可参考图4(b)图4(a)与图4(c)分别展示了碎冰航道数值计算结果与试验实拍图,可以看出,数值计算结果与汉堡冰水池试验实拍结果吻合良好。
汉堡冰水池试验设置依据芬兰-瑞典冰级规范的规定,在FSICR 1A冰级下,实船航速为5 kn,冰厚为1.532 m,船-冰的摩擦阻力系数为0.1,冰力学参数如表2所示。
船舶在碎冰航道航行过程中,碎冰和水均要与船体发生相互作用,故在包括船首和船尾在内的船体附近布置较细的网格,自由面也进行加密处理,其他区域适当增大网格尺寸,网格距离船体越远,尺寸越大。以压载吃水为例,整个计算域的总网格数约为220万,如图5所示。
基于上述数值模拟方法,模拟FSICR 1A冰级下船舶在碎冰航道中的航行过程,获得船舶的总阻力结果,并与汉堡冰水池试验结果进行对比,验证数值方法的可靠性;随后,对不同吃水工况开展数值计算,研究不同吃水对船舶碎冰阻力性能的影响。
图6以压载吃水为例,展示了数值模拟与汉堡冰水池试验碎冰颗粒分布形态的对比,图中的左半部分为数值模拟结果,右半部分为汉堡冰水池试验结果。从图中可以看出,数值模拟结果可以较好地还原汉堡冰水池试验中的现象。船舶在前进时,船体对航道中的碎冰产生挤压,导致船首区域碎冰的堆积,见图6(a);堆积到一定高度后,在重力、船体挤压和碎冰之间碰撞的共同作用下,碎冰会沿着船体舷侧在水线附近向后滑动,见图6(b);船穿过碎冰航道时,在船尾区域形成一定的开敞水域,见图6(c);由于压载首吃水较浅,部分碎冰受到船体和其他碎冰的挤压,会沿着舷侧滑入船底,同时由于浮力作用,碎冰会紧贴于船体往后滑动,见图6(d)。数值模拟表明,基于CFD-DEM数值方法可以很好地模拟出碎冰和船体相互接触时的堆积、滑动等现象。
图7展示了FSICR 1A冰级、满载吃水工况下船舶总阻力的数值计算结果。总阻力在整个时间历程中可分为两个阶段。在约230 s之前为阻力增加阶段,总阻力呈震荡上升趋势,在此阶段碎冰颗粒逐步和船体进行接触,接触的船体面积以及与船体接触的碎冰颗粒数量均逐渐增加。随着碎冰颗粒穿过船尾,总阻力逐渐趋于稳定,即230 s之后为阻力稳定阶段。由于汉堡冰水池试验结果中未提供阻力时历曲线,故本文的数值模拟结果将以平均总阻力的形式与汉堡水池试验总阻力预报结果进行对比。平均总阻力的选取方法如图7中的虚线所示,选取总阻力稳定段的均值。
数值模拟、FSICR经验公式以及汉堡冰水池试验在FSICR 1A冰级下的实尺度总阻力预报结果比较如表3所示。在压载和满载吃水下,数值模拟预报结果和汉堡水池结果之间的误差分别仅为2.38%和2.50%,吻合良好,而FSICR经验公式预报结果和汉堡水池结果之间的误差为10.37%和12.74%,上述结果验证了本文数值方法在预报船舶碎冰阻力时的可靠性。
汉堡冰水池总阻力结果表明,运输船在碎冰区航行时,吃水变化会对船体总阻力产生较大影响。为了研究船舶吃水不同对其阻力的影响,本文基于FSICR 1A冰级,采用数值模拟方法,开展Cases 1-11共11个吃水工况下的阻力性能研究,各吃水工况及阻力计算结果信息见表4。其中,Cases 1-6工况为平吃水,从满载吃水15.0 m逐渐减少至压载吃水6.7 m,研究平均吃水变化对阻力的影响;Cases 7-11工况以压载吃水为基础,保持船中吃水6.7 m不变,研究不同纵倾对阻力的影响。
表4可以看出,在吃水从15.0 m降低至6.7 m的过程中,整船水阻力呈单调下降趋势,符合预期,但在整船总阻力中的占比较小,对整船总阻力变化的影响不大。然而,整船总阻力则并未随吃水的降低而呈现单调下降趋势:吃水从15.0 m降低至9.0 m过程中,整船总阻力逐渐降低;当吃水从9.0 m下降至8.0 m时,整船总阻力却显著上升。
为研究上述现象,将整船拆解为图8所示的首部、中部、尾部和底部4个部分,分别监测其冰阻力,Cases 4-5的计算结果在表5中展示。计算结果显示,吃水从9.0 m降低至8.0 m时,整船冰阻力增幅为293.7 kN,其中首部冰阻力增加249.0 kN,占比达到84.8%,底部冰阻力增加46.8 kN,占比达到15.9%,中部冰阻力和尾部冰阻力差异较小。可见,首部冰阻力的增加是导致整船冰阻力增加的主要原因。图9为Cases 4-5两个吃水下,碎冰在船体首部的分布形态,很明显地,与9.0 m吃水相比,吃水为8.0 m时碎冰与船体首部的接触面积要更大,导致8.0 m吃水的冰阻力更大。图10展示了上述两个吃水下船底碎冰的滑过情况,8.0 m吃水时碎冰滑入底部较9.0 m吃水时更多,导致更大的底部冰阻力。
通过对比表4中Cases 6-11的计算结果还可以发现,尾倾增加对整船总阻力几乎没有影响。其中,水阻力随尾倾的变化较小,同时水阻力在整船总阻力中的占比很小。表6中展示了Cases 6、9和11在船体首部、中部、尾部和底部4个部分的冰阻力计算结果。结果表明,随着尾倾角度的增加,首部冰阻力逐渐减小,中部和尾部冰阻力略降低,而底部冰阻力逐渐增大。底部碎冰的滑过情况如图11所示,可以看出,随着尾倾的增加,底部碎冰覆盖的面积越来越大,导致了底部冰阻力的增加。
针对运输船在碎冰区航行的场景,本文选取一型实际建造的碎冰区运输船,基于STAR-CCM+软件,采用CFD-DEM数值方法,建立了碎冰颗粒数值模型,在FSICR 1A冰级下,对船-冰碰撞现象以及冰阻力性能进行了研究;比较了数值模拟、FSICR经验公式和汉堡冰水池三种方式获得的整船总阻力差异;针对包括满载和压载吃水在内的多个吃水工况,研究了吃水不同对阻力性能的影响。得到以下结论:
(1)包括堆积、沿舷侧滑动、船后开辟的开敞水域和碎冰滑入船底情况在内的碎冰颗粒分布形态,数值模拟结果与汉堡冰水池试验结果相吻合,表明本文自主建立的不规则棱台形状碎冰颗粒模型和采用的数值方法可以较好地模拟船-冰的相互作用。
(2)压载吃水和满载吃水的数值预报结果与汉堡冰水池预报结果仅相差2.38%和2.50%,明显优于FSICR经验公式10.37%和12.74%的预报精度,验证了本文数值方法预报船舶碎冰阻力的可靠性。
(3)吃水从15.0 m降低至6.7 m时,整船冰阻力未呈现单调下降趋势。吃水从15.0 m降低至9.0 m过程中,整船冰阻力逐渐降低;吃水从9.0 m下降至8.0 m时,整船冰阻力又显著增加,该现象由船体首部和底部所受冰阻力增加导致,其中船体首部冰阻力增幅起主导作用。
(4)在6.7 m的吃水条件下,不同尾倾对整船冰阻力影响不大,然而,船体不同部分受到的冰阻力有显著区别。随着尾倾的增加,船体首部所受冰阻力逐渐减小,中部和尾部所受冰阻力差异较小,底部所受冰阻力逐渐增加。
