Liquid sloshing load is one of the key loads for the structural design of tank in Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) carrying vehicle. When the sloshing load is too large, it will lead to local damage of the tank structure, which will cause liquid leakage and even the overturning of LNG vehicle. In this paper, based on the previous numerical results, two kinds of wall structures, i.e. trapezoid and square, were proposed. Liquid sloshing in tanks with different wall structures was experimentally studied. For the free-surface evolution and the distribution characteristics of impact load, with the help of statistical analysis, the effectiveness of wall structures in suppressing liquid sloshing was qualitatively and quantitatively analyzed. The results show that the presence of wall structures has changed the flow field. And instead of direct impact by water, an indirect impact by gas-containing liguid occurs. During the sloshing and impact of air-containing liquid, a large number of air-liquid mixtures and bubbles are generated, effectively reducing the impact load. Furthermore, the square wall structure is better than the trapezoidal wall structure for suppressing impact load.

液体晃荡砰击载荷是液化天然气(LNG)运载装备液舱结构设计的关键载荷之一。液体晃荡砰击载荷过大时,会导致液舱结构产生局部破坏,进而导致液舱内液体泄露,甚至船体倾覆。基于前期数值结果,本文设计了梯形体和正方体两种壁面结构,开展了不同壁面结构下的液体晃荡砰击试验。针对自由液面演化过程以及液体晃荡砰击载荷分布特性,结合统计分析方法,定性和定量地分析了壁面结构对液体晃荡砰击的抑制效果。研究结果表明,壁面结构的存在改变了液体晃荡砰击过程中的流场分布,使砰击由液体直接砰击改变为裹气液体的间接砰击。裹气液体晃荡砰击过程中产生了大量气液混合物和气泡,从而有效地降低了砰击载荷,并且正方体结构抑制砰击载荷的效果优于梯形体结构。

液体晃荡砰击载荷是液化天然气(LNG)运载装备液舱结构设计的关键载荷之一。液体晃荡砰击载荷过大时,会导致液舱结构产生局部破坏,进而导致液舱内液体泄露,甚至船体倾覆。基于前期数值结果,本文设计了梯形体和正方体两种壁面结构,开展了不同壁面结构下的液体晃荡砰击试验。针对自由液面演化过程以及液体晃荡砰击载荷分布特性,结合统计分析方法,定性和定量地分析了壁面结构对液体晃荡砰击的抑制效果。研究结果表明,壁面结构的存在改变了液体晃荡砰击过程中的流场分布,使砰击由液体直接砰击改变为裹气液体的间接砰击。裹气液体晃荡砰击过程中产生了大量气液混合物和气泡,从而有效地降低了砰击载荷,并且正方体结构抑制砰击载荷的效果优于梯形体结构。

Liquid sloshing load is one of the key loads for the structural design of tank in Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) carrying vehicle. When the sloshing load is too large, it will lead to local damage of the tank structure, which will cause liquid leakage and even the overturning of LNG vehicle. In this paper, based on the previous numerical results, two kinds of wall structures, i.e. trapezoid and square, were proposed. Liquid sloshing in tanks with different wall structures was experimentally studied. For the free-surface evolution and the distribution characteristics of impact load, with the help of statistical analysis, the effectiveness of wall structures in suppressing liquid sloshing was qualitatively and quantitatively analyzed. The results show that the presence of wall structures has changed the flow field. And instead of direct impact by water, an indirect impact by gas-containing liguid occurs. During the sloshing and impact of air-containing liquid, a large number of air-liquid mixtures and bubbles are generated, effectively reducing the impact load. Furthermore, the square wall structure is better than the trapezoidal wall structure for suppressing impact load.

液体晃荡砰击现象广泛存在于陆地运输、航空航天以及船舶与海洋工程等领域内[1-3]。在船舶与海洋工程中,液化天然气(Liquefied Natural Gas,LNG)运载装备逐步向大型化和超大型化发展,液舱的尺寸也随之增大。对于大型或超大型LNG液舱,由于液舱内载液率不受限制,液舱内容易发生剧烈的液体晃荡砰击现象[4-6]。当砰击发生时,液舱壁面会承受较大的砰击载荷,砰击载荷过大时,会导致液舱结构产生局部破坏,甚至会影响运载装备航行中的稳定性和安全性[7]。因此,研究液体晃荡砰击现象及其抑制措施,对液舱结构设计和船舶的安全运营具有重要的意义。
近年来,国内外学者针对液体晃荡砰击抑制措施开展了大量的数值和试验研究,抑制措施的形式主要包括主动式和被动式[8]。主动式抑制措施可根据液舱内部的液体晃荡砰击状态实时调整内部结构的位置,最大程度降低液体晃荡砰击[9];被动式抑制措施则是在液舱内部安装固定隔板等结构物,以此来抑制液体晃荡砰击。相较于成本较高的主动式抑制措施,被动式抑制措施更为常见,常见的有竖直隔板[10-12]、水平隔板[13]、竖直和水平隔板组合[14]、环形隔板[15]和多孔板[16-17]。在液舱内部安装固定隔板抑制液体晃荡砰击的原理是,通过隔板改变自由液面的固有频率,使自由液面固有频率远离外界激励频率,从而避免发生共振现象。然而,在液舱内部安装固定隔板不仅会增加施工难度,而且固定隔板缺乏灵活性,从而使该措施没有在LNG运载装备工程中得到广泛应用。
GTT公司制造的Mark III薄膜型液舱主要由不锈钢薄膜层和复合材料膜组成,并直接由船体结构支撑。不锈钢薄膜层直接与液化天然气接触,其结构形状设置为波纹凸起型,目的是克服热胀冷缩过程中引起的温度应变[18]。根据Mark III薄膜型液舱结构设计,作者提出利用凸起的壁面结构来抑制液体晃荡砰击的设想,并利用数值模拟方法进行了初步探究。在数值模拟中,作者考虑了二维矩形和菱形液舱,设计了三角形、正方形、矩形和梯形壁面结构,分别探讨了壁面结构形状对液体晃荡与砰击的影响,数值结果表明,壁面结构的存在可以有效降低砰击载荷[19-20]。然而,由于液体接触壁面结构并砰击液舱壁面时,该过程会包裹大量气体,从而形成气液混合两相流,数值方法目前尚不能精确描述气-液-固三者的耦合过程,故无法精确预报液舱剧烈晃荡引起的砰击载荷。
鉴于上述背景,本文基于前期数值结果,挑选并设计梯形体和正方体两种壁面结构,将其安装在液舱侧壁上,同时以光滑壁面作为对比,开展不同形状壁面结构的液体晃荡砰击试验,来探究其抑制液体晃荡砰击载荷的物理机制及其抑制效果。
为了尽可能避免液体晃荡砰击过程中三维效应的影响,试验设计了B/L=0.1的液舱,液舱的具体尺寸为:L×B×H=1000 mm×100 mm×1000 mm。为了防止试验过程中发生冲顶现象,设计液深h为125 mm,液舱内的液体为室温条件下的自来水。模型液舱的正视图如图1(a)所示。液舱的前后壁面以及上下壁面采用12 mm厚的透明有机玻璃板,以方便记录液体晃荡砰击过程中自由液面的演化过程,液舱左右壁面采用2.7 mm厚的铝板,用特殊夹具将左右侧壁刚性固定在液舱上。本研究设计了两种不同形状的壁面结构,分别为梯形体(Trapezoid)和正方体(Square),梯形体和正方体壁面结构尺寸如表1所示,其安装位置如图1(b)所示。梯形体和正方体壁面结构为中间掏空的,用铆钉将各个壁面连接在一起并与右侧壁面刚性连接。此外,本文还设计了光滑壁面(Clean)作为对照组试验。
为了定性分析壁面结构对液体晃荡砰击过程中自由液面的影响,在液舱右侧壁的正前方安装一个高速相机,其拍摄区域为图1(a)中的绿色框区域,高速相机的帧率设置为100 fps(帧每秒)。为了定量分析壁面结构抑制液体晃荡砰击的效果,在右侧壁面中心线位置处安装压力传感器来记录液体晃荡的砰击压强。在之前的数值和试验研究中[19-21],我们发现液体晃荡砰击具有高度的局部性。因此,本试验在自由液面附近处安装8个压力传感器来捕捉液体晃荡砰击的动力特性,压力传感器的位置在不同工况下保持一致,如图2所示。本试验使用的压力传感器为HM91微型压阻式传感器,其量程(Full Scale,FS)为40 kPa,出厂精度为0.2% FS。在正式开始试验前,对压力传感器进行了静态和动态校准测试[22],以确保传感器的测量精度。
本试验是在大连理工大学工业装备与结构分析国家重点实验室的六自由度平台上开展的[22],该平台的最大承载能力为12 t,平台的最大平动位移为±800 mm,精度为±1 mm,能够实现各种外界激励的复现。在本试验中,将液舱刚性固定在运动平台上,通过控制运动平台,对液舱施加横向的强迫简谐激励,运动方程如下:
式中,x为液舱运动位移,A为液舱运动的幅值,f为液舱运动的频率,t为运动时间。
在之前液体晃荡砰击光滑壁面的研究中[20],我们通过改变液舱运动的幅值和频率发现,当A=30 mm和f=0.625 Hz时,会产生flip-through砰击现象。在flip-through砰击现象中,自由液面不包裹气泡以及不产生气液混合物,导致液体直接冲击结构,从而产生较大的砰击载荷。因此,本文采用A=30 mm和f=0.625 Hz作为外界激励参数,以产生flip-through砰击现象。试验对三种不同的工况采用相同的外界激励,确保外界输入系统内的能量保持一致,进而保证不同工况下试验数据具有可比性。此外,在此激励下,每个工况进行三次重复性试验。
液体晃荡砰击过程中壁面结构对自由液面演化过程的影响规律是揭示壁面结构抑制液体晃荡砰击载荷物理机制的关键。因此,本文分别在每种工况下挑选8张具有代表性的自由液面状态来显示液体晃荡砰击过程,如图3图4图5所示,以此来定性分析壁面结构对流场的影响规律。需要说明的是,在不同工况下液体沿壁面下降的过程中,液体对壁面的砰击载荷较小,因此本文没有列出其相应的自由液面运动图像。在图3~5中,通过对比不同工况下的自由液面演化过程,可以发现在t=0.07 s时,液体完全砰击到壁面,因此定义t=0.07 s为液体砰击壁面的时刻。基于此,不同工况下的液体晃荡砰击过程可以分为三个阶段:液体晃荡砰击前期阶段(t=0.00~0.06 s)、液体晃荡砰击发生时刻(t=0.07 s)和液体晃荡砰击后期阶段(t=0.09~0.13 s)。
在液体晃荡砰击前期阶段(t=0.00~0.06 s),不同工况下的自由液面演化过程存在较大差异。在光滑壁面工况下(图3#1-#4),波峰逐渐向右运动,波谷沿着壁面逐渐上升,波峰与波谷之间所形成的四分之一椭圆的尺寸逐渐减小,并逐渐汇集于一点。在梯形体壁面工况下(图4#1-#3),波峰逐渐向右移动,波谷起初接触到梯形体结构下侧,随后波谷沿着梯形体与液舱前后壁面之间的缝隙上升。紧接着,波谷在上升过程中,受到梯形体的阻挡作用,沿着梯形体结构上侧壁面形成角度为31°的射流,如图4#4中红色虚线所示,与此同时,射流与梯形体上侧壁面之间形成大量气液混合物。正方体壁面工况下自由液面的演化过程与梯形体壁面工况下大致相似,不同的是在正方体壁面工况下,所形成射流的角度为45°,如图5#4中红色虚线所示,且其所形成的气液混合物相较于梯形体壁面工况下更多。
在液体晃荡砰击发生时刻(t=0.07 s),不同工况下的流场分布存在较大差异。在光滑壁面工况下(图3#5),波峰与波谷汇集于一点,对壁面造成直接砰击。在梯形体壁面工况下(图4#5),由于在液体晃荡砰击发生前产生的射流,其砰击位置相较于光滑壁面工况下有所上升,同时,在梯形体结构上方形成类似钝角形状的封闭气液混合物。同样地,在正方体壁面工况下(图5#5),其砰击位置相较于前两种工况最高,此外,在正方体结构上方形成类似直角形状的封闭气液混合物。通过对比该时刻不同工况下的液体晃荡砰击图像,可以发现,壁面结构的存在改变了液体晃荡砰击模式,由液体晃荡直接砰击改变为裹气液体的间接砰击。
在液体晃荡砰击后期阶段(t=0.09~0.13 s),由于壁面结构的存在,改变了不同工况下的流场分布。在光滑壁面工况下(图3#6-#8),液体沿着壁面逐渐上升,直至到达最高点。在梯形体壁面工况下(图4#6-#8),随着液体沿着壁面上升,位于梯形体结构上方的封闭气液混合物随液体逐渐螺旋上升,并分裂成一些气泡和气液混合物。同样地,在正方体壁面工况下(图5#6-#8),位于正方体结构上方的封闭气液混合物逐渐分裂,并随液体螺旋上升。相较于梯形体结构,在正方体壁面结构工况下,液体沿壁面上升过程中所包裹的气泡和气液混合物更多。
通过对光滑壁面、梯形体壁面和正方体壁面工况下液体晃荡砰击过程中自由液面演化过程的描述可以看出,壁面结构的存在改变了整个液体晃荡砰击过程中的流场分布,使液体由直接砰击改变为包裹气体的间接砰击。壁面结构的存在使波谷在上升过程中沿着壁面结构上方产生射流,从而在壁面结构上方形成了一些气液混合物,并提高了砰击点的位置。此外,在液体晃荡砰击后期阶段,在梯形体和正方体壁面工况下,壁面结构上方形成了大量气泡和气液混合物,而在光滑壁面工况下,在液体晃荡砰击过程中没有气泡和气液混合物的产生。通过对比梯形体和正方体结构下的自由液面演化全过程可以发现,相较于梯形体结构,在正方体结构上方包裹了更多的气泡和气液混合物,气垫效应更明显,其抑制液体晃荡砰击效果更优,为此,将在2.2节中对液体晃荡砰击载荷进行定量分析。
为了定量分析壁面结构抑制液体晃荡砰击的效果,本文基于统计分析方法对不同工况下的砰击压强峰值进行了定量评估。砰击压强峰值是从压强时程曲线中提取得到的,如图6所示。本文考虑了P2-P7测点处的压强峰值,对于每个工况下的不同测点,分别在三组试验中随机挑选100个砰击压强峰值进行统计计算。需要注意的是,由于测点P1和P8处的压强较小,故本文不做考虑。
图7为不同工况下砰击压强峰值的统计特征值结果,其中,Pave代表所有压强峰值的平均值,P1/3代表前1/3压强峰值的平均值,P1/10代表前1/10压强峰值的平均值。从图7中可以看到,不同工况下最大压强峰值出现在不同的区域,在光滑壁面工况下,测点P4和P5处的砰击压强峰值较大,在梯形体壁面工况下,测点P6处的砰击压强峰值较大,在正方体壁面工况下,测点P6和P7处的砰击压强峰值较大。通过对比不同工况下各个测点处的砰击压强峰值可以发现,在测点P2~P5处,光滑壁面工况下的压强最大,梯形体壁面工况下的压强次之,正方体壁面工况下的压强最小,该结果表明壁面结构的存在可以有效降低砰击压强,尤其是在测点P4和P5处。相较于梯形体结构,正方体结构降低砰击压强更有效,这与上述正方体结构工况下气垫效应更明显相对应。然而,在测点P6和P7处,砰击压强峰值分别在梯形体壁面工况下和正方体壁面工况下为最大,这与上述液体自由液面演化过程一致,均是由于液体晃荡砰击位置的上移所导致的。需要说明的是,梯形体和正方体壁面工况下在P6和P7处的压强峰值小于光滑壁面工况下在P4和P5处的压强峰值。因此,从侧壁受到最大砰击载荷的角度来考虑可以看出,壁面结构的存在使液体在砰击过程中包裹大量气泡和气液混合物,可以有效降低砰击载荷。
为了精确得到砰击载荷峰值的超越概率曲线,本文选择广义极值分布(Gev)、二参数Weibull分布(Weibull2)和三参数Weibull分布(Weibull3)来对砰击载荷峰值进行拟合,以确定拟合砰击载荷峰值最优的统计模型。

式(2)中,x为砰击压强峰值,μ为位置参数且μ≥0,k为形状参数且-∞≤k≤∞,σ为尺度参数且σ≥0。式(3)中,x为砰击压强峰值,β为尺度参数且β>0,γ是形状参数且γ>0。基于式(3),在式(4)中引入了位置参数δ。在本研究中,采用极大似然估计方法对广义极值分布和二参数Weibull分布中的参数进行极大似然估计,采用矩方法对三参数Weibull分布中的参数进行矩估计。
图8~10分别为不同工况下,砰击压强峰值基于不同统计模型拟合的概率密度函数。从图8~10中可以得到,三种统计模型均能较好地拟合砰击压强峰值。为了定量分析不同统计模型的拟合效果,本文采用Kolmogorov-Smirnov(K-S)方法来检验拟合结果,其计算公式如式(5)所示:
式中,为实际结果的累积概率密度分布函数,Gx)为拟合的累积概率密度函数,D为预设拟合结果与实验结果的最大差值的绝对值,D值越小,则说明统计模型拟合效果越好。
基于K-S检验方法,得到了不同工况下三种统计模型的评估参数D,如表2所示。由于不同统计模型在不同工况下各个测点处的拟合效果差别较大,因此本文综合各个测点处的统计量D来判断统计模型的拟合效果。从表2中可以看出,在每个工况下,广义极值分布和三参数Weibull分布的评估参数D相差较小,但总体均小于二参数Weibull分布。结果表明,广义极值分布和三参数Weibull分布的拟合效果均优于二参数Weibull分布。
根据上述砰击压强峰值基于不同统计模型的拟合效果,本文采用三参数Weibull分布来计算压强峰值的超越概率。图11~13分别为光滑壁面、梯形体壁面和正方体壁面工况下的砰击压强峰值超越概率曲线。从图11中可以得到,测点P5处的压强峰值更偏向右侧,说明在光滑壁面工况下测点P5处承受较大的液体晃荡砰击载荷。同样地,从图12图13中可以得到,梯形体壁面工况下在测点P6处承受较大的砰击载荷,正方体壁面工况下在测点P6和P7处承受较大的砰击载荷。通过对比不同工况下的超越概率曲线可以发现,梯形体和正方体工况下最大砰击压强的超越概率曲线相比于光滑壁面工况下偏左,这表明壁面结构的存在,导致不容易产生较大的砰击载荷,换言之壁面结构可以有效降低砰击载荷。此外,梯形体壁面工况下最大压强的超越概率曲线相较于正方体壁面工况下偏向右,结果表明正方体结构抑制液体晃荡砰击载荷的效果优于梯形体。
本文对不同形状壁面结构抑制液体晃荡砰击进行了试验研究,利用高速相机记录了液体晃荡砰击过程中自由液面的演化过程,以此来定性分析壁面结构对流场的影响,揭示了壁面结构抑制液体晃荡砰击的物理机制;利用压力传感器记录了液体晃荡砰击载荷,并结合统计分析方法,定量分析了壁面结构抑制液体晃荡砰击的效果。主要结论如下:
(1)壁面结构的存在改变了液体晃荡砰击过程中的流场分布,液体由直接砰击改变为包裹气体的间接砰击。在梯形体和正方体壁面工况下,由于壁面结构的阻挡作用,在液体晃荡砰击前期阶段形成了射流和气液混合物,导致砰击发生时砰击位置的上移,以及在液体晃荡砰击后期阶段,气液混合物逐渐分裂为气泡和气液混合物,并随液体沿壁面螺旋上升。相较于梯形体壁面结构,正方体壁面结构工况下产生的气泡和气液混合物较多,气垫效应更明显。
(2)壁面结构的存在可以有效降低液体晃荡砰击载荷。结合不同工况下砰击压强峰值的统计特征值和超越概率曲线可以发现,在梯形体和正方体壁面工况下,其最大砰击载荷峰值小于光滑壁面工况,即壁面结构的存在可以有效降低砰击载荷。此外,正方体结构抑制液体晃荡砰击载荷的效果优于梯形体结构,这与正方体结构工况下气垫效应更明显相对应。
(3)基于K-S检验方法的计算结果表明,液体晃荡砰击压强服从广义极值分布和三参数Weibull分布。
本文主要考虑了壁面结构的形状参数,未来将系统研究不同液舱模型参数(液舱形状和尺寸、液深、外界激励频率和振幅)和不同壁面结构参数(形状、位置、数量和组合)对液体晃荡砰击载荷的影响,深入探究不同参数下壁面结构抑制液体晃荡砰击的物理机制及其抑制效果。
