In order to study the energy evolution and fracture characteristics of sandwich composite rocks under impact loads, six sets of sandwich composite rock specimens were created using three materials: sandstone, marble, and granite. Dynamic fracture impact tests were then conducted using the Hopkinson pressure bar system to analyze crack propagation morphology, stress wave waveform characteristics, crack tip stress field, and energy loss relationship. The DLSM simulation results were also used to analyze the propagation law of stress waves and the evolution process of kinetic energy during dynamic fracture processes. The results showed a good fit between the dynamic fracture process captured by high-speed cameras and the crack propagation process simulated by DLSM. It was observed that the occurrence of cracks depends on the failure of weak bedding planes. Under the same impact conditions, the lower the strength of the weak bedding planes, the shorter and more advanced the crack propagation time, and the more energy is used for crack propagation. Additionally, under the same incident energy conditions, using a specimen with higher hardness as the impact end material results in a stronger reflection effect, greater reflection energy, weaker transmission effect, smaller transmission energy, and greater energy dissipation of the specimen. The bedding plane was found to have a significant hindering effect on the propagation of stress waves.

为研究冲击荷载下夹层复合岩石能量演化及断裂特征,选用砂岩、大理岩和花岗岩3种材料制成6组不同的夹层复合岩石试件,利用霍普金森压杆系统进行动态断裂冲击试验,研究不同复合岩石试件的裂纹扩展形态、应力波波形特征、裂纹尖端应力场和能量损耗关系,同时结合DLSM模拟结果,分析动态断裂过程中的应力波传播规律以及动能演化过程。结果表明:高速相机拍摄的动态断裂过程与DLSM模拟裂纹扩展过程具有良好的拟合度;裂纹的产生情况取决于层理弱面的破坏情况,相同冲击条件下,仅层理弱面不同的试件,层理弱面强度越低,裂纹扩展的时间越短且越靠前,夹层材料硬度越小,用于裂纹扩展的能量越多;在相同入射能量条件下,硬度较大的试件作为冲击端材料时,试件的反射作用较强,反射能量较大,透射作用较弱,透射能量较小,试件的能量耗散较大;层理面对应力波传播具有明显的阻碍作用,产生的透射波在尖端积蓄能量直至切缝起裂,试件综合硬度增大后,透射波明显减弱,并且传播速度减缓。

为研究冲击荷载下夹层复合岩石能量演化及断裂特征,选用砂岩、大理岩和花岗岩3种材料制成6组不同的夹层复合岩石试件,利用霍普金森压杆系统进行动态断裂冲击试验,研究不同复合岩石试件的裂纹扩展形态、应力波波形特征、裂纹尖端应力场和能量损耗关系,同时结合DLSM模拟结果,分析动态断裂过程中的应力波传播规律以及动能演化过程。结果表明:高速相机拍摄的动态断裂过程与DLSM模拟裂纹扩展过程具有良好的拟合度;裂纹的产生情况取决于层理弱面的破坏情况,相同冲击条件下,仅层理弱面不同的试件,层理弱面强度越低,裂纹扩展的时间越短且越靠前,夹层材料硬度越小,用于裂纹扩展的能量越多;在相同入射能量条件下,硬度较大的试件作为冲击端材料时,试件的反射作用较强,反射能量较大,透射作用较弱,透射能量较小,试件的能量耗散较大;层理面对应力波传播具有明显的阻碍作用,产生的透射波在尖端积蓄能量直至切缝起裂,试件综合硬度增大后,透射波明显减弱,并且传播速度减缓。

In order to study the energy evolution and fracture characteristics of sandwich composite rocks under impact loads, six sets of sandwich composite rock specimens were created using three materials: sandstone, marble, and granite. Dynamic fracture impact tests were then conducted using the Hopkinson pressure bar system to analyze crack propagation morphology, stress wave waveform characteristics, crack tip stress field, and energy loss relationship. The DLSM simulation results were also used to analyze the propagation law of stress waves and the evolution process of kinetic energy during dynamic fracture processes. The results showed a good fit between the dynamic fracture process captured by high-speed cameras and the crack propagation process simulated by DLSM. It was observed that the occurrence of cracks depends on the failure of weak bedding planes. Under the same impact conditions, the lower the strength of the weak bedding planes, the shorter and more advanced the crack propagation time, and the more energy is used for crack propagation. Additionally, under the same incident energy conditions, using a specimen with higher hardness as the impact end material results in a stronger reflection effect, greater reflection energy, weaker transmission effect, smaller transmission energy, and greater energy dissipation of the specimen. The bedding plane was found to have a significant hindering effect on the propagation of stress waves.

岩石在自然条件下含有不同的结构构造和矿物组成,在物理、化学、生物风化等作用下,产生了很多节理、层理、裂隙等缺陷[1]。以往大多是对完整岩体的研究,然而岩体往往最先在其缺陷处发生岩体的损伤和破坏。在外界荷载的影响下,岩石会在这些初始缺陷周围起裂、发展并贯通,最后发生岩石的损伤和破坏[2]。这些缺陷对岩石的力学性能存在一定的弱化效应,且所发生的损伤过程伴随着能量的转换和消耗。当动荷载作用于层理弱面时,会产生应力集中;且层理弱面裂隙随动荷载的作用而产生,并贯通发展逐渐演化至失稳,这些裂缝的产生,可能会导致安全事故的发生[3]。因此,在很多地下工程中,为了有效防止安全事故的发生,对含层理弱面岩体的力学性质的研究极为重要。但目前仅对缺陷岩石中预制裂隙岩体的破坏机制研究较多,对夹层复合材料岩石的破坏机制研究较少,因此对冲击荷载下夹层复合岩石动态力学性能的基础和应用研究具有重要的研究价值和工程意义[4]
关于夹层变化的影响研究:Gong为了研究花岗岩的夹层效应[5],采用分离式Hopkinson压杆对夹层巴西圆盘试件进行直径冲击,直接从裂纹尖端试件中确定动应力强度因子,得到材料的动态断裂韧性,将最大平均试验载荷代入准静态方程,得到动态断裂韧度值。Dong对人造夹层岩石进行的SHPB试验[6],发现人为岩石在冲击载荷作用下表现出明显的剪切损伤,因为它是一种典型的多孔介质,在微观尺度上含有大量的孔隙、裂纹和晶界等缺陷。实验结果还表明,岩石孔隙度对岩石的动态力学行为起着重要的作用。关于夹层试件整体性质方面的研究:宗周红利用直径75 mm的分离式霍普金森压杆(SHPB)对中空夹层钢管混凝土进行了不同冲击速度的动态压缩试验[7],建立了SHPB试验的数值模型,研究了材料强度、外钢管厚度、空心率等参数对中空夹层钢管混凝土动态力学性能的影响。Zou利用分离式霍普金森压杆系统[8],对含夹层的大理石试件进行了冲击试验,并研究了夹层倾角对大理石抗压强度的影响。
关于复合岩石材料的动态力学特性研究:赵洪宝为研究工程中冲击作用下不同复合岩体的动力响应差异[9],采用分离式霍普金森压杆(SHPB)试验系统和数字图像相关系统(DIC),对煤-岩和岩-煤2种复合岩体进行不同应变率下的动态冲击试验,对比动力冲击后2种复合岩体的应力波传播特征、动态强度、能量耗散、破碎分形特征以及破坏模式,并建立考虑复合煤-岩特性的本构模型。周靖轩基于有限元数值模拟软件ANSYS LS-DYNA以及SHPB(霍普金森压杆实验系统)[10],对复合结构巷道围岩在预应力与爆炸载荷下的力学响应与破坏特征进行研究。
本文将利用霍普金森压杆冲击加载系统进行动态断裂冲击试验,研究不同夹层复合岩石的裂纹扩展形态、应力波波形特征、裂纹尖端应力场和能量损耗关系。同时结合DLSM模拟结果,分析动态断裂过程中的裂纹尖端位移、应力波传播规律以及动能演化过程,研究冲击荷载下夹层复合岩石能量演化及断裂特征,以揭示不同夹层复合材料岩石间的动态断裂行为差别。
本试验借助中国矿业大学(北京)力学与土木工程学院直径50 mm的SHPB装置进行,入射杆和透射杆的长度分别为2000 mm和1600 mm,入射子弹选用钢制圆柱形子弹,其长度为400 mm,在入射杆、透射杆端面涂抹适量的凡士林使其足够光滑,为了保证试件均在相近冲击速度下进行试验,气压控制系统均以0.18 MPa的冲击气压来推动子弹。为了研究夹层复合试件的动态断裂特征,共设计6种不同的方案,如表1。见图1
将取芯后的圆柱按国际岩石力学学会推荐的圆盘试验普遍使用的尺寸(即直径:厚度=2:1)制成标准圆盘试件[11],圆盘试件的尺寸50 mm×25 mm;圆盘试样的制作之后,对半圆盘试件进行预制裂纹处理,制成NSCB试件,如图2。将各个的半圆盘试件底部中心位置分别进行切缝处理,预制裂纹的切缝深度为4 mm位于半圆盘的中心线处,裂纹宽度为0.3 mm,裂缝尖端用金刚石线锯进行锐化处理,控制裂纹尖端宽度为0.1 mm,图2为夹层复合试件的试件夹层示意图,方格纹理代表大理岩材料,斜线纹理代表砂岩材料,白色纹理代表花岗岩,两道层理面用黑色平行线条表示。3种岩石材料的基本物理力学参数如表2
图3为高速摄像机下的夹层复合试件裂纹扩展图,根据材料变化将试件的分析分为三个不同的角度。
分析夹层复合试件的断裂过程,并对与其材料组成相反的试件进行对比分析。对于图3(d)DHD试件,试件由预制切缝尖端起裂,然后斜向上沿着第一道大理岩层理面扩展,裂纹在120 μs时竖直向上扩展到花岗岩层理面,180 μs时裂纹穿透花岗岩层理至大理岩层理面,接着主裂纹开始竖直向上继续在大理岩层理面里扩展,并伴有次生裂纹的出现,直至300 μs裂纹穿透试件到达试件顶部支座处,次生裂纹也扩展到试件边缘,此时试件发生破坏。次生裂纹的产生主要是作为脆性材料的大理岩,在强度薄弱处或者支座处容易应力集中,产生裂纹;对于图3(c)HDH试件,裂纹始于花岗岩的切缝尖端,终于花岗岩顶部支座,120 μs时裂纹穿过第一层花岗岩至大理岩层理处,材料改变导致层理处裂纹扩展方向发生向左微小偏移,裂纹总体发展方向较为平直,180 μs时裂纹穿越顶部花岗岩材料直至300 μs裂纹贯穿试件,试件破坏。
与单一材料试件破坏过程相类似的是:夹层试件也有裂纹扩展和局部挤压两种破坏形式,主裂纹和次生裂纹也均产生于预制裂缝处和夹层接触面处。对比图3(a)和(f)二者的破坏形态,纯砂岩试件的裂纹扩展路径较为清晰,试件的由下至上的三层内,从起裂位置开始到裂纹尖端,裂纹由宽渐窄,两种夹层砂岩试件均在材料变化处裂纹方向出现较小偏移,这是由于两种岩石材料硬度不同,层理面产生程度微小的应力集中。
图3中夹层破坏形态放大图。对比图3(c)HDH和(f)HSH两个试件破坏形态,HHH试件的主裂纹比较平直,大体方向是由起裂点发展至上部支座,HDH试件和HSH试件在层理变化处产生了方向偏移,偏移程度HSH>HDH>HHH,这是由于砂岩-花岗岩、大理岩-花岗岩、花岗岩-花岗岩的硬度差越来越小;对比其破坏时间,发现裂纹扩展总时间HHH>HDH>HSH,裂纹起裂时间HSH先于HDH先于HHH,这是由于夹层材料不同,层理弱面不同,此时裂纹的扩展与层理弱面材料相关。
由不同材料组合而成的夹层试件存在层理弱面,其他条件相同的情况下,裂纹的产生情况取决于层理弱面的破坏情况,层理弱面的存在对试件的裂纹扩展与延伸起很大作用,相同荷载冲击下,仅层理弱面不同的试件,层理弱面的强度越低,试件裂纹扩展的时间越短,裂纹扩展的时刻越靠前。当中间一层不相同的面不是层理弱面时,可以从控制变量的角度理解,试件的裂纹扩展程度和破坏时间、快慢由唯一变量——夹层材料决定,夹层材料越硬,试件裂纹扩展越慢。
通过应力强度因子表征试件裂纹扩展,由于试件夹层的存在将应力强度因子的变化分为了三个阶段:裂纹在穿过第一道材料时,应力强度因子逐渐增大至峰值,在裂纹穿过夹层的过程中,应力强度因子由于材料变化先下降后回升,发展至第三层层理时,应力强度因子又逐渐下降至零值。见图4
夹层试件应力强度因子整体趋势相同,始于零值,先在零值周围波动,随时间变化逐渐上升,到达峰值后出现波动平台,持续一段时间后数值下降直至零值。试件的三层也将应力强度因子时程曲线分为三段,分界点为裂纹发展至层理面1和层理面2时应力强度因子的值。试件从裂纹起裂发展至层理面1,曲线由零开始上升,斜率逐渐增大;裂纹从层理面1发展至层理面2时,曲线从峰值点递减,后又回升至另一峰值点,但后出现的峰值点始终低于第一个峰值点;裂纹由层理面2贯通整个试件的过程中,曲线的值持续下降,斜率先增大后减小。HSH试件曲线最先上升也最先迎来峰值,这说明HSH试件最先到达断裂韧度,因为砂岩花岗岩的硬度差较大且脆性较大,花岗岩作为冲击端材料时,比较容易产生裂纹,试件容易发生破坏。对比剩余试件应力强度因子峰值出现的先后,硬度较小的试件在受到相同冲击时,先达到动态断裂韧性值,先发生破坏。夹层材料的不同使试件的综合硬度发生变化,导致试件应力强度因子的变化。
表3是夹层复合试件的能量和能量比值情况,图5是应力波在三组不同夹层复合试件中传播时,透射能量比、反射能量比、能量耗散比随夹层复合试件材料变化的关系曲线。
对比SDS和DSD试件,SDS试件的反射能量比小于DSD试件,硬度较大的试件作为冲击端材料时,试件的反射作用较强,反射能量比较大;对比SHS和HSH试件,SHS试件的反射能量比大于HSH试件,而花岗岩与砂岩的组合中,花岗岩是硬度较大的试件,与前面的规律不符合,这是因为花岗岩与砂岩的硬度差过大,且花岗岩脆性较大,当硬度差较大时,脆性较大材料作为冲击端时试件的反射作用较强,反射能量比较大,反射作用与冲击端材料的硬度呈正相关。
对比SHS和HSH试件,SHS试件的透射能量比大于HSH试件,硬度较大的试件作为冲击端材料时,试件的透射作用较弱,透射能量比较小;对比HDH和DHD试件,HDH试件的透射能量比小于DHD试件,符合上述规律,硬度较小的材料作为中间夹层材料时,试件的透射作用较小,透射作用与夹层材料的硬度大小成负相关。
相同的入射条件下,对于砂岩花岗岩组合试件与大理岩花岗岩组合试件,HSH试件的能量耗散比大于SHS试件,HDH试件的能量耗散比大于DHD试件。两组试件都是硬质岩石材料作为冲击端材料,试件的能量耗散比较大,预制裂隙起裂更困难,试件耗散能量主要用于裂纹起裂及扩展,当裂纹达到层理后会消耗能量,用于层理面上端的裂纹起裂,在一道层理面材料相同的前提下,穿透第一道层理所消耗的能量一致,但当夹层材料发生变化时,夹层材料越坚硬,裂纹到达上端层理2时需要消耗更大的裂纹尖端能量,而当夹层材料坚硬度减小后,裂纹起裂所消耗的能量相应减小。
图6为夹层复合试件的裂纹扩展过程模拟图。对比砂岩和大理岩的组合,两种组合岩石都在预制裂缝尖端起裂,且两种试件都由同一起裂点发出两个裂纹分支,最终均以一条竖直裂纹穿越上端。二者的不同点在于DSD试件的两条裂纹分支始终对称分布同时发育,而SDS试件的两个裂纹只发育了一条,右边的裂纹未发育,左边的裂纹为主裂纹,在砂岩至大理岩的层理面稍微向左偏移,便恢复竖直裂纹发展轨道上。在67.5 μs时,DSD未出现绿色模块,而SDS的裂缝周围出现绿色区域,由于夹层变化,绿色区域仅在第一、三层材料处出现,总体上SDS试件比DSD试件产生的绿色区域较多。
对比砂岩和花岗岩的组合,SHS试件平直裂缝沿着预制裂隙向上发展,在第一个层理分界面处,即裂纹从砂岩传递至花岗岩时,裂纹走线向左微偏,但迅速恢复原来的轨迹;HSH试件在预制裂缝处产生了两条裂纹走向,后只有一条裂纹发展成主裂纹,在尖端主裂纹起裂时因应力集中方向偏离,但在经过第一个层理面时裂纹走向恢复竖直向上。SHS和HSH试件都是在67.5 μs时出现绿色颗粒,绿色颗粒区域范围随着时间的增长而增大,且SHS试件比HSH试件的绿色区域面积大,94.5 μs两种试件几乎布满绿色区域,SHS试件红色区域面积大于HSH试件,这说明SHS试件的破坏先于HSH试件,且破坏程度大于HSH试件,符合SHS试件的总体硬度小于HSH试件总体硬度的客观规律,也说明了数值模拟的准确性。
图7为夹层试件的应力波传播云图。应力波由试件模型顶端产生,并沿着加载方向传播,层理面对其具有明显的阻碍作用,应力波随后垂直层理面产生了反射波和透射波,透射波继续沿切缝方向传播,并在尖端积蓄能量直至切缝起裂;层理材料改变时会影响应力波的透射与反射方向,当试件综合硬度增大后,透射波明显减弱,并且传播速度减缓,结合图8分析得知,模型试件得到的透射波信号与试验具有相似的特征,即透射波峰值随着层理角度的增大而不断减小,本质原因是层理材料变化导致反射面积增大,导致应力波在经过层理面后产生了更少的透射波。在砂岩花岗岩的组合中,应力波传播速度SHS试件优于HSH试件,SHS试件比HSH试件的波传递性能好,花岗岩作为试件冲击端材料,砂岩作为夹层材料时,试件的波阻抗匹配效果更好。在大理岩砂岩组合的分析中,规律与实际实验相反,这是由于数值模拟中没有计算材料硬度差改变对波传播的影响。
模型试件在模拟断裂过程中因动态荷载所获得的能量为总动能[12-15]图9为岩石模型试件的总动能-时间曲线,将六种试件根据夹层两端材料的不同分为3组,两端材料相同的为一组试件。总动能曲线均在前期缓慢增长,后期峰值产生明显差异,峰值点后曲线产生小幅度波动。
图9(a)试件的硬度SDS<SHS。SDS产生的变形位移较大,于是冲击后得到的动能较大,总动能值SHS>SDS;SDS试件的硬度较小,破坏所需时间较短,先达到总动能。结合总动能的值和达到总动能的时间,SDS试件的总动能曲线始终在SHS试件曲线的上方。同理分析其他组试件,发现总动能值DHD>DSD、HDH>HSH,DSD、HSH破坏所需时间较短,先达到总动能,DSD试件的总动能曲线始终在DHD试件曲线的上方、HSH试件的总动能曲线也始终在HDH试件曲线的上方。以上三组试件的对比分析,对于夹层复合试件,两端材料不同时,夹层材料的硬度越大,试件总动能越小,达到总动能所需时间越长。
(1)主裂纹和次生裂纹均产生于预制裂缝处和夹层接触面处。相同荷载冲击下,仅层理弱面不同的试件,层理弱面的强度越低,试件裂纹扩展的时间越短,裂纹扩展的时刻越靠前。当中间层材料不相同且非层理弱面时,试件的裂纹扩展程度和破坏时间、快慢由夹层材料决定,夹层材料越硬,试件裂纹扩展越慢。
(2)夹层复合试件的层理将应力强度因子时程曲线分为三段,分界点为裂纹发展至各层理面时应力强度因子值。在受到相同冲击时,硬度较小的试件先达到动态断裂韧性值,先发生破坏,并且夹层材料的不同使试件的综合硬度发生变化,导致试件应力强度因子的变化。
(3)在相同入射能量条件下,硬度较大的试件作为冲击端材料时,试件的反射作用较强,反射能量较大,透射作用较弱,透射能量较小,试件的能量耗散较大,但硬度差较大时,脆性较大材料作为冲击端时试件的反射作用较强,反射能量较大。
(4)层理面对应力波传播具有明显的阻碍作用,透射波继续沿切缝方向传播,并在尖端积蓄能量直至切缝起裂;层理材料改变时会影响应力波的透射与反射方向,当试件综合硬度增大后,透射波明显减弱,并且传播速度减缓。
(5)对于夹层复合试件,两端材料不同时,夹层材料的硬度越大,试件总动能越小,达到总动能所需时间越长。
